Reckless behavior people show during travelling

avatar

During my travels I observe people around me, it's not that I want to monitor them but I try to understand their behavior. One thing I notice is that people with different cultures behave differently, even how they sit, talk and conduct themselves in public is different. It's nice to understand these things, it makes easier to connect with people when you know a little bit of them.

In all the observations, there are somethings which are also not very pleasant and come to sight. Many times, I see people behaving very recklessly in their travels and using things without any consideration for others. Just for e.g., when they get a cup of coffee, when they get up from their seat, they leave the empty cup there itself and when another person comes and sits there it is very uncomfortable to see someone's dirty cup lying. It is most seen in the washrooms, when the washbasin area is used to wash hands, they use it so shabbily that they leave water all over the place. Water can spill out but then why not clean the mess and walk out rather than leaving it messy for others.

The other common thing that annoys me is talking loud on the phone in an enclosed area. Why cannot they talk softly, why do they want the whole world to know what they are talking about. These are incidents at the Airport, then there are some on the flight, who never have consideration for people sitting next to them and spread out as if they have bought the seat next to them as well. I always want to take a window seat so that I can have some space for my hands on one side at least. Sometimes it happens that if there is a man sitting next to me then he will use up the whole of arm rest and I am uncomfortable throughout the journey. Because I am thin probably, they feel that I can accommodate in a very little space also....hehehe

Many times, I travel alone and I get some weird people sitting next to me, who are lousy on their way of sitting, eating and even drinking. People feel that if they have bought the flight ticket, they have bought the airline and their staff as well and they can do anything after that. One time when I was travelling there was a lady sitting next to me, it seemed like she was very fond of reading newspaper. She had brought all the possible newspapers of the day with her on the flight and kept reading. That was nice, but then after reading she would drop the paper down, after a while my whole foot area was messy with her papers. I requested her to pick them up and she had all the audacity to tell me what was my problem, they were on the ground and not on my seat. I felt like killing her...hehe.

One incident I remember, there was a man sitting next to me and he started talking to me, conversations clicked, but then he would just not stop and kept going on and on. By the end of my 3-hour flight I was exhausted talking to him. It is funny as well as annoying at times to have such people sitting next to you. You do not have much of choice, and I do not like to engage much in conversations with people around me during travels, because you do not know anyone personally as such, so it's best to be in boundaries.

When I think of my travelling experiences I do laugh out, because some of them are really hilarious. In that moment I feel annoyed but later I laugh at them :-)

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Some of the fragments of the incident that you described were experienced by many people, and you are not alone in that discomfort.
If you don't dare to reprimand for the common good, then the best course of action is to remain silent and laugh at all those people's antics.
But one thing is the point for me: you have said that all the people there have come from different cultures; what we think is not good may be in their view the best, and vice versa, right?

I see you really enjoyed your trip, @nainaztengra.
Have a nice trip.

I do not always keep quiet, when some thing annoys me beyond a point of my tolerance then I do let the opposite person know, and I think it is required else people do not have that self-realization and they feel that whatever they are doing is ok to go with

The behavior matters alot to know the mindset of people. Somehwere my childhood I read some lines- Always keep in mind behave with other the way you want them to behave with you.

Exactly, Specially in public places we need to be cautious and also sensitive of other people around us.

Some people do not have regards for others while travelling. They do not consider if the person beside them is comfortable or not and that isn't always right. Most times, you can't blame them because that is just how they are.

True, the most annoying for me is the arm rest part when the second person does not realize that it is for 2 people and not just one :-)

Normally I don't have the experience you got because I travel with my girlfriend and my son. So we take a range of 3 seats!

I can understand that is annoying to talk to someone for 3 hours nonstop when you want to enjoy the flight. ;)

When you have someone with you then it's comfortable. Same for me, when I travel with hubby then I am at comfort, but most of the time we travel separately except for family holidays.

Talking loud on phone annoys me a lot. I feel the person is not courteous enough. You should learn not to make noise around people even though you are familiar with them.
That's a sign of courtesy

You are absolutely right that cleanliness is in our hands. But nowadays no one understands, they do everything according to their wish. It seems there should be a rule that nothing is above the law.I hope you have a beautiful journey.
