zekethoughtsmusic.jpg

Some people may be able to bust out a #ThoughtfulDailyPost daily but weekly is my pattern. @Wesphilbin waves the flag for us and runs @thoughtfulposts as the curation account that rewards thoughtful posts. Please share your positive vibes on the blockchain and consider delegating.

Being a digital marketer, my social media algorithm feeds me some positive vibes and I occasionally pause to consider the lessons to be learned. Best shared on the blockchain blog.

Importance

I fought through the crystal goddess spam on this one to wonder who Iain Thomas https://iainsthomas.com/about/ was an why he was gifted the extra I in his first name. Apparently is an immensely popular South African writers and poets whom I have not heard of til this moment! Here we go!

I was thinking about how often I have to remind myself that all I find compelled to do in a busy life is not as important as it would seem. Sure personal finances are fairly important but the universe doesn't care what the number on my credit score is. How many boxes did I tick off that took the time from something that really was important? How many damn things in a day can possibly be important?
I bet it takes some people more decades than others to get to the point where they can pull their hands back. How many times do you have to miss something important to wake your brain up regularly to check priorities? How many times do you make a bad call and say no to something so you can pose magnanimously with your hand on your heart and say no?

It does seem like an endless quest to get it right in my world but I am finding more peace in saying no as I strive to balance progress and happiness during the process.

Nonsense

I found a few revisions and edits of this quote but couldn't pinpoint the original author. I did find this profile https://www.pinterest.ca/positivekristen/quote-remedy/ which seems to have amassed more than their chare of preachy quotes.

Along the lines of the first quote, how much nonsense can you stop yourself from caring about or investing time in when you learn to double check its importance? It could be the realisation of how much time has been wasted that prompts us to exercise that discipline. The concept of wasted time can be a depressing one as we have such a finite amount of it.

Life does definitely have a way of humbling you as we all fail our way to learning and the resulting wisdom. But was it wasted? Sometimes a little nonsense is just what the doctor ordered! We can avoid brands of nonsense permanently by spending just a bit too much time learning that it is so.

I am going to have to think on this a little more as I am too lazy to waste time but certainly love downtime as a balance to a busy life. Constantly seeking that balance of simplifying joy and maximizing the value of the time I have...as value is a sliding scale depending upon evolving perspective.

Truly, when you give time to what truly matters, you spend less time on nonsense. It’s unfortunate we spend too much time on the nonsense everyday, to make some time for what matters.

So true.

I have come to the point where I am recalculating the equation of importance more and more. Sometimes it appears something like “I am too old to put up with this shit!” ;)

I wish I could go back and take back all the time I wasted on nonsense. But I can't, all I can do is try not to waste what is ahead.

That’s it. Regret is suffering the past but I try and convert that into energy to live the best present and positively effect the future.

We shouldn't worry about something everyday. That would affect our whole life.

True.

To me, worry is an impulse to be acknowledged or an echo of focussing on the problem that needs to be silenced.

Thank you for sharing these thoughtful quotes and your insights on them. I think it's important to remember that not everything in life is as important as it seems, and that we need to be careful not to waste our time on nonsense.

I also agree that it's important to find a balance between simplifying joy and maximizing the value of our time. It's okay to have some downtime, but we also need to make sure that we're spending our time on things that are truly important to us.

Absolutely agreed.

I noticed I have the tendency to decide something, then lock it in and forget about it. This thoughtfulness is reminding me that evaluating what is important constantly may be time well spent!
