The Real Problem

Edward Osborne Wilson is a "biologist, naturalist, ecologist, and entomologist known for developing the field of sociobiology" born in Alabama in....1929! Not only has he witnessed almost a century of evolution of humanity, he has been awarded by the Fellows of the Royal Society of London for making a "substantial contribution to the improvement of natural knowledge, including mathematics, engineering science, and medical science." Dood is probably worth listening to!

When a line starts with "The real problem with humanity is," I can't help to see what comes next. Navigating the business world from a small town, I find myself deliberating with the team about the state of the world, finance, and the mindset of the public as prospects and small business owners. We seem to come up with more problems then solutions but we are just getting started solving the problems of the world. Emotional control, or lack there of, have often been a topic of conversation when it comes to problems between people. I would think we have grown emotionally since the Old Stone Age but I get the message here.

Medieval institutions does seem scientific like a dig at religious organizations but maybe that's just me. God-like technology? Wow I suppose that is what we have even though we are not driving around in hover cars. Interesting take on each but so scary to think of in combination. Could present a problem indeed.

Tears for Fears about humanity that Wants to Rule The World.

All of us get lost...

I normally take a stealthy approach of sneaking Rush into the #thoughfuldailypost but have inadvertently taken a more direct approach this time. I took the liberty of adding Neil's name to this as the lyricist for Rush, and a little Hive in the corner for my effort. I will follow this with the song from which the lyrics come but you can check it out here for reference https://www.rush.com/songs/the-pass/

For me, Snoopy connects me to my youth waiting for the Peanuts specials on television. Simple and imaginative approach to life. Sets me up for some whimsical musing not at all deep like getting lost in the darkness.

Everyone has their struggles for sure and getting lost in the darkness is probably how we feel when they happen. I think there are varying depths of darkness for each individual but that is a personal thing. I love how your eyes adjust while sitting in the blackest of night and stars appear as time passes. Sitting in the darkness on an island in the wilderness while camping miles from anywhere is almost nothing like getting lost in mental darkness but what if it is? Relax, breath the fresh air, watch the stars as they reveal themselves, be comfortable with the darkness and navigate by the bits of twinkling light.

All of us do time in the gutter. Dreamers turn to look at the cars. RUSH!

Nothing like getting thoughtful as it is not the mistakes that lead to wisdom, it is contemplating those mistakes. If being thoughtful is up your alley, you have the option to delegate to @thoughfulposts to increase the rewards for positivity.
https://hive.blog/introduceyourself/@thoughtfulposts/thoughtfulposts-introduction-or-a-thoughtfuldailypost is the post that started it all over 3 years ago!

I invite you to pen your own #thoughtfuldailypost any day of the week and share your insight on the world through your blog.

Maybe use godlike technology to navigate by the stars?

When I read the line... "we have Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions, and god-like technology"...
Somehow an image of a caveman wielding a nuke came to mind...
another image is... a caveman in storm-trooper armor... and a lightsaber... worst... operating the Death Star!
just imagine the havoc that would create!

I will stop here before my mind goes wilder than this!

Haha I am right there with you! These are uncomfortable thoughts at times but I am sure those are the ones that keeps us centered and aware of our influences and systems around us. If we can harness our emotions, modernize our institutional systems personally, and respect the technology as powerful, we can progress and fight through problems the world faces.

Haha I think it already has and we are on a scary trajectory unless we acknowledge and respect it more!

One of the real problems of humanity I have actually seen also is the fact that we have few hands which want to make humanity a better place to be

It is true. It can seem overwhelming and even paralyzing to bear the weight of the world. We can start small, with ourselves and build from there. I have been amazed at the helpers I have discovered while trying to help and draw inspiration from them to try and be one of those hand lifters. Seems like a self fulfilling prophecy for me!

@zekepickleman...

Not at all to be rude... but when you start talking about Rush, I kinda don't see any other words lol. That band has been such a positive force in my life. Every album was like the soundtrack to my life... Being a drummer... of course, Neil was like a family member I never met. But more than the music; they were truly amazing, caring, crazy, and dear souls... all three of them. Anyway...

Don't know if you have seen this video. But grab the tissues... Love and light, brother...

It is funny we live in a system where we are misled and fleeced like sheep but still surprised at the ignorance and emotional immaturity of the masses. That is by design! Let's give them lazers and see if they can indenture themselves further!

Just like that, every human being is emotional and has a lot of feelings for other human beings and when that person doesn't act like that, then that person gets very sad and starts living in trouble.
