Sublime Sunday: Let's make a smoothie!

Happy Sunday!!!

Let's kick off the day with a healthy, nutritious smoothie!

I purchase frozen berries and repackage them in ziplocks into one portion each. When I feel like adding berries to my smoothies, I reach for one from the freezer.

The package is a mixture of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. To this, let's add one whole banana. This combination of fruits is not only delicious but does wonders for the body!

Blueberries are high in antioxidants, raspberries are high in dietary fiber and high in vitamin C, blackberries are loaded with vitamins C and K, and bananas are a natural source of potassium!

Then, let us add two tablespoons of cottage cheese for protein.

Cottage cheese contains casein protein, which is considered a "complete protein." That means it has all the amino acids your body needs. A serving of full-fat cottage cheese provides more protein – about 25% more – than a similar serving of full-fat Greek yogurt for roughly the same amount of fat.

Cottage cheese is also high in calcium and Vitamin B12.
Some people do not like cottage cheese. But I like it! It is not aged the way cheeses are aged and is sold fresh. And I like it in small curds.

The milk follows, about one cup.

I find this blender a bit too large. I am thinking of purchasing another one, maybe a 3-cup capacity. For everyday use, a smaller one would be ideal, although I need this size for my parties.

After blending the berries, banana, cottage cheese, and milk, the smoothie is transferred to a glass. No, we don't drink from the blender the way some would, lol.

Let us add two teaspoons of Chia Seeds for added nutrition. My chia seeds go very fast. It's time to buy again!

Chia seeds come from the flowering chia plant. They offer antioxidants, protein, and fiber.

I had no idea that cottage cheese had so much protein @silversaver888!😊
My Dad always kept cottage cheese in the refrigerator when I was a kid!
I could make a complete meal out of a full container of cottage cheese, add a little and a little salt and pepper delicious!🤗

When I was little, my Mom used to serve me cattege fruit with all sorts of fresh fruits, like papaya, pineapple, peaches, apples, grapes, mango, blueberries, raspberries... and I loved it!

As a kid if we ever went to a smorgasbord that had cottage cheese, I usually ate more than my share…. And several other people share of cottage cheese Lol😇
