A Quest and A Question - Splinterlands

Have you ever wondered what you know about Splinterlands? It's an NFT game, that's nothing new. It allows you to have fun and maybe earn some money playing games and trading cards, but what do you know, I ask you, about the game's story?
The game was founded by blockchain innovators who shared a mutual frustration with mainstream digital trading card games that stemmed from players losing ownership of their assets when trading card games went digital. The companies who actually own the cards that players are supposed to "own" themselves can withhold information, reprint cards as often as they'd like, or even wholly delete a player's collection based on inactivity or a violation of terms. Through the power of blockchain, Splinterlands solves these problems by making digital trading cards transparent, scarce, and actually owned by the players who own them.

The game begins as a free journey in Praetoria, a continent with kingdoms, empires, and nations. Praetoria is divided into seven nations: Pristine Northwest, Broken Lands, Land of Prosperity, Central Fire, Wild Northeast, Great Lowlands, and Shimmering Coasts. Each has unique regional characteristics that represent them and guide the player on their journey.
The Splinterlands is just one realm in a stratum of countless realms known collectively as the planes of existence. These planes aren’t separated geographically; rather, they occupy the same space and time, divided instead by interplanar and extraplanar boundaries known as ley lines. Paradoxically, each plane—and each realm within it—is surrounded by an infinite expanse known as the Beyond. Separated by lay lines and mana to prevent undesired travelling between realms, these lines can be weakened, causing havoc and destruction in the game world, allowing passage.

Although in the same time and space, these realms are philosophically different, with inner planes, outer planes, upper planes, lower planes and the beyond that surrounds each plane. This is in terms of location but all of these comprise many other planes.
Now the population inside splinterlands are so varied it deserves it's own post but briefly it is composed of eleven kinds of creatures, divided by bloodline and species : Beastborn (Humanoids), Colossals (Giants), Demifolk (similar to dwarfs and sometimes dwarfs), Draconics (similar to dragons), Extraplanars (from outside of the material plane), Feyfolk (from the Fey Plane or Shadow Plane - still inside the material plane mentioned before), Forged (similar to golems, artificially created), Goblinoids (goblin-like), Primes (diverse humanoids with short lifespan), Verdant (sentient flora and fungi), Wild (Any creature lacking sapience). There are also the Transformed ones, which due to their nature, are classified separately.
And finally, what is a splinter, you ask? as explained by the game devs "Ah, you ask of splinters, my friend? Now, that's a term that carries the weight of our world. A splinter, you see, is the essence of who we are. It’s the fabric of our allegiances and the root of our conflicts." Being a splinter is fighting and dying for the flag you support. Your story, what you believe in, who you are, what you do and what others do. In splinterlands, there are hundreds of ideas being fought for to remain alive. And per tradition, you should be a part of that too. Once you open the book. The grimoire.

Isn't it interesting how even something based on trading and for a specific market also has a rich story at it's foundations based in strategy and diversity. Splinterlands is more than a card game, it's a dream i eager to talk about in the near future. It deserves to be known.
