Solos Solar Array production stats - December 2025
With a good amount of snow coming around last month we lost solar on the days I did not remove the snow. Only array C did I clear off the panels, as it was truly off grid and needed to recover power during the day. The other array I just left covered until it melted on its own. So we indeed lost a few days of productivity by that. Even with the snow removed from array-C it only barely made more than the A+B so I think it was just a pretty cloudy month in general.
In the month of December we produced 1401.8 kWh (1.40 Mwh) on the farm.
It has also been mostly cloudy, only with a few days of full sun. Many times I find myself charging my electric vehicle during that time instead of mining. But I think during the summer I should have more power produced, and the battery powered machines are more efficient during the summer as warmer temperatures make the batteries run better.
Using excess solar power the farm mined 0.00021086 Bitcoin valued at $18.77 based on the current Bitcoin price of $89,937

I bet you would generate much up here this month with the sun setting at 5pm, the constant cloud cover from lake effect snow, and having to remove all the damn snow we are getting.
How much of a job is it to remove the snow from the arrays? I bet it would be easy to look at the excess energy you would gain in the value of bitcoin mined and easily decide it is not worth the effort.

Hah yeah, here on the southeast region of the US is really good for solar.. Only the desert is better. It takes a good 30 minutes clearing them off every time. I use a long broom and just drag off the snow. But sometimes I need to clear them 2-3 times a day, and usually by the last clearing im pretty tired of it.. lol me and my foreman team up and get it all done though.
Not horrible, but if the price of BTC goes up it will be even better. With the other stuff you are running off the array what timeline do you think your ROI will be?

Yeah it could be better, well charging the UTV saves me money every time. I have probably saved a few thousand dollars already in charging costs. As for the Bitcoin miners I would need to make more than $9000 so that is going to be many years.
I'd probably roll it together with what I am saving from the charging. If it were me keeping track of the numbers. Either way, it sounds like the setup is working out well for you!
You can't expect too much solar at this time of year, but as long as the sun can reach the panels you get something.
I plan to do a roundup for 2025 with my solar as it's the first full calendar year. I rely on the inverter app and my energy supplier for the stats.

I need to look at scripting my retrieval of the numbers so I can do some charts as well. I'll work on that for this year.
When I had solar power on my lake stevens house it had microinverters as your big inverters. The advantage was that every panel has its own inverter so the system is more efficient particularly on cloudy days and especially in partial shade or snow obstruction scenarios.
I also noticed that on cloudy days my solar produced almost as much electricity as on sunny days...

Oh that is cool, I think @ksteem has simular technology. Mine are more simple, but I have bifacial panels on array-c which helps a lot when the snow is covered the ground.. Usually set records those days.
Probably worth it from the sounds of it.

Snow and overcast weather severely limited power generation, but the off-grid Array C performed relatively well thanks to prompt snow removal.
Yep, keeping those panels clear of snow is key. But its a lot of work when it snows all day long.. lol
