Exhibition Coming Up, Your Feedback Please?
My photography lessons almost reached their end and all students now are asked to send images to be used for our exhibition 'Beginners 2025-2026"
The problem?
We need to send both Portraits and Landscapes, 10 photos from each category. These photos will be shared and discussed during our last two meetings, next two Mondays.
Well first problem is that next Monday I cannot go - but I also do not have portrait photographs to share.
My friends and family will not allow me to make photos, I am too shy to ask anyone outside to photograph them and when I go out, my lens is not too zoomed, so I would have to be real close to take a close up of someone. This means that I only have a few images that are of i.e. cats
So what I was thinking was sending some cat or insect images (taken on mobile), and lets see what feedback I will get.
The below images are some of the ones shot with my Canon R8
All of them are with a 24-50mm lens f/4.5-6.3
I think I may also share some of my mobile photos, I have more faith in them at the moment. I really need to build a portfolio of camera photos too :))
I hope you like them and please give me an honest feedback. Would any of these photos would worth being in an beginners' exhibition?
The wave. Minimal but in its simplicity - joy and nature is hidden.
The rise of a full moon and the rays of sun during sunset
Old and forgotten balconies, in a modern city..
I think I will not include this because it has a strange depth of field and it lacks a main point of interest
My city, the castle, above an old shipyard
Old, broken, forgotten, blended with new and an urge to travel
Street art and people
Shot on the day my bro had an operation. I left the hospital with a great deal of hope and I love this photo because I had never shot this angle before
I hope it was not a boring post, thank you in advance!!
Thank you so much!
You are a skilled photographer! My favorite, if you want one, is the street art and people. There is so much going on here, and yet the image is not chaotic. If you zero in on that picture, it's a story. The man in the car, indifferent to the people on the street, the art, and you. The graffiti, partly washed off. The couple walking, also unaware of the art, the man in the car, and your camera. Then, of course, that dramatic image above it all, the street art--a woman lost in thought. I think it's a great scene and the more I look at it the more it offers me.
Thank you so much my friend, that photo also brings feelings to me when I see it, the people walking are so well synchronized and everything else around them going on, as you said..
I appreciate your time and thoughtful comments!
I hope that some of my photos do get some exhibit space, I will make a post if they will

My favorite one is that one you don't want to include!
Second castle + shipyard
I liked the street photography more...
Oh but in general I don't like people in pictures, it's my fixation lol
I think that everywhere we see human elements, we are drawn to it
Thanks for your input!
Thank you!
Historical landmarks are always great to watch :)
Hey thank you soooo much! I appreciate it!
I love every shot you took. They're beautiful. I'm particularly drawn to the wave, as nature is my thing. The combination of street art and people against the natural backdrop is stunning. The strange depth of field in this photo that made you think it lack main point of interest is also striking, it gives it an artistic feel. It captured my eye first, should I call it an earthly tone below the rock, nature is indeed beautiful.
I am thankful for your input!!!

STOPI'm not a seasoned photographer nor have I been trained in any but I know good photos when I see them, and these are a bunch of captivating shots, especially the second and last one. I think they'd make a good collection for the exhibition.
About the portraits, I just hope you'll be lucky with getting the portraits of humans to share. If not, you could always submit the cats'.
For me, I'd go out there and ask peeps if I could photograph them for my exhibition. I'm sure some would definitely jump on the request. I could even request for their contacts and send them the photos afterwards. 😅

Thank you for your input and ideas!
Im too shy to ask people to photograph them, but I know that I will try this genre at some point :)

You're welcome. Yeah, we all do ask for help at some point.
