Greetings Dear Readers;
.
Hope you are well and enjoying the weather wherever you are.
.
This is a very old maxim from the time of the Old Roman Empire.
It is interpreted from the Latin. ... 'He is a winner who perseveres.'
When watching a sport of any kind....the spectators appreciate those who persevere to the end...especially the winner. The win represents so much ....the time spent to train, the person being tested mentally and physically to the limit, and last but not least the determination that is solely up to the individual in order to win. It is a moment in time that makes the heart soar.
What about those who realize they will not be the winner...should they give up, should they throw in the towel, as it were. Let's hope not, for the true test is that of persevering...which will contribute to the next opportunity...building that determination muscle.
What a timeless truth, let's give it a think...shall we.
Wishing you the very best...God's best!
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord." Luke 2.11
It is faith alone in Christ alone for eternal life.

Beautiful flowers and very deep words of advice. I forgot to persevere lately! I need to be more stubborn with my perseverance to achieve my goals. Nothing is free so I have to work hard to earn it!
Thanks so much for your thoughtful contribution!
Greetings @kaminchan ,
What a lovely comment....thank you.
Yes...that is what happens we forget....thus a timely reminder from time to time.

Thanks for sharing a nice life principle once again, dear @bleujay. I can totally relate, especially to what we do here in Hive. It's a journey, and we should appreciate the daily grind and consistent engagement with one another.
By the way, the flower arrangement is so beautiful. I love it! 😍 Cheers!

great life reminder, the mind holds the key tk every success however the chaos happening in the world limit its potential, it sorely depends on the individual

😊😊
Wow your hydrangeas sure are big this time of year! My tulips as done and gone by the time it is for my hydrangeas to bloom large.
I like the principal of perseverance.
Like many of your other ones, I immediately think of the lessons learned in martial arts. Primarily the one I see often “a black belt is a white belt who never quit”. That is the definition of perseverance right there.
It also makes me think of losing in the context of perseverance. It is a huge part of winning to take the lessons from the losses and keep going. Another great example of perseverance.
So, to simplify it so everyone can win:
Keep going, learn from your lessons, don’t quit and win!🏆
Greetings @zekepickleman ,
What a lovely reply....thank you!
They look like hydrangeas...right...but they are from the Snowball Viburnum Shrub ...they do not last long ...a couple of weeks maybe...but it stretches the white flower season a bit longer. My Annabella Hydrangeas are looking lovely...no flowers yet. ^__^
Happy to hear your thinking regarding the Principle....I quite agree...excellent examples....thank you!
Kind Regards,
Bleujay
Absolutely true: one only reaches one's aims in life if one keeps trying and doesn't give up, too easily.
Photography and painting show that you are a real artist with amazing skills in both areas, @bluejay!
Greetings @gen-quimba ,

Those flowers sure are beautiful and your photos of them are amazing.
You also captured the essence of the Parrot Tulip very nicely in your painting too. Aren't they such beautiful things? How did God think of all the different kinds?? Sometimes I ask Him that when I see beautiful things. :)
Greetings Jacey,
Appreciate you dropping by with such kind complimentary words regarding the post.
Since you are an artist, your comments are especially welcome...yes...the word 'essence' is what I hope to capture when rendering a subject...thank you.
Indeed....Parrot Tulips have my attention....and are so very lovely. Yes...exactly quite the phenomenon what God has provided for us. It stops me in my tracks sometimes. I think it is in Genesis where it says...He provided some trees for beauty...
Kindest Regards,
Bleujay
Beautiful painting, I probably prefer the painting to the shots because of the time spent on the painting. I love the redness of the tulip in the painting, it's very beautiful and the details of the black sides on the top is sheer mastery
To be honest, we cannot all win in life, there are things I'm currently doing that I'm not sure if I'll win, but I'm going on anyways because I've come too far to give up now.
So instead I pray for the grace to persevere.

Greetings @bleujay, dropped by via snaps. The watercolor painting is really beautiful, amazing set of vibrant colors :)
I think perseverance is one of life's way of testing us if we really want the outcomes we desire. The experience of winning is sometimes indescribable, especially when it's well deserved.
Greetings @takhar ,
What a kind reply. Thank you for dropping by via Snaps.
At times, it does seem to be a test....^__^

Being a winner makes everyone happy, but perseverance is very important. Success is not for those who wait for it, but for those who run after it.
The photos and the word of the day were beautiful dear @bleujay. I hope you are having a nice weekend.
Greetings @incublus ,
Thank you for dropping by with such a lovely response to the Principle and compliments. Happy to hear your thoughts.
Appreciate your kind wishes...here's wishing you and yours a lovely weekend.

Beautiful photos, beautiful wisdom lines and a delicious watercolor as always!... Here, in addition to "He who perseveres wins" (they say it more colloquially here) we also say a locally adapted phrase: "He who tires loses!" along with the first one!... But basically it is a true use of that original principle which you mention in your post!... Thanks for sharing and have a happy and blessed week from now on for you and your close ones dear @bleujay friend!

You are too kind....appreciate you dropping by with your fine comment, Discovery recommendation and tokens.....thank you. ^__^
The addition of 'He who tires loses.' is quite helpful ...as contrasts assist in understanding the Principle of 'He who perseveres wins.' Thank you for bringing these principled phrases to the discussion. They provide nuances....lovely!
Thank you for your kind wishes...here's wishing you and yours and pets the same.
Kindest Regards,
Bleujay

What a great presentation of an age old maxim we should never forget. Thank you for reminding us all of the importance of perseverance. You are absolutely right to highlight the value of investment even if that doesn't win the race. It could well serve as a building block for your next race or challenge, and that one you may just win.
The principle you speak of reminds me of another saying which is similar - if at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again. Are you familiar with that one @bleujay?
Glorious flowers and what a vase, it almost looks ornate in design. And as for your tulip painting what a stunner - marvellous!

How very kind of you to drop by with your kind reply and generous tip...thank you.
Indeed...this principle bears repeating...the nuance of it...as you noted by saying....'It could well serve as a building block for your next race or challenge, and that one you may just win.'....was what struck me this time....thinking what if the other contestants dropped out....did not finish.
We would call it 'unsportsman-like conduct' would we not. So I had to ask myself ...why would they finish the race when the winner is evident....right. Manners aside, of course. One answer could be...the participation benefits all...the winner reaps a visible reward....the others invisible...but it is there all the same.
Oh yes...I do appreciate that saying...' - if at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again......thank you for reminding Bleujay. ^__^
Thank you for your kind compliments regarding the 'Icing'....happy to hear your thoughts.....which brought to mind an episode in the series 'Poirot' where the detective said in jest to his assistant....'You are easily stunned.' ^__^
Very encouraging really....thank you.
Kindest Regards,
Bleujay
Ha ha! Monsieur Hercules Poirot, a man always designed to bring a thoughtful smile to the face.
Thank you for expanding on your thoughts and yes I quite agree, the reward is there even for the loser. That's what gives perseverance such meaning.
The tulips are very beautiful with sweet colors and the white ones are very gorgeous. I love them....
Your painting is excellent and lovely. Well done, as always!
Yes, I will not give up on anything..... Many thanks for your today's principle. Cheer! ;)
Greetings @tangmo ,
How very lovely to hear from you. Thank you for your splendid response to the post.

You are most welcome! Many thanks for your kind regard to Titan & De-i... Wishing you all the best! ;)
Until I opened your post, I thought you were talking about peonies, these beautiful tulips are so similar to them, the first glance can be deceiving.
Your watercolor, as always, revealed this bouquet to us in a new light, @bleujay.
I agree, to endure to the end is already a victory, although different people evaluate this concept differently if they do not see real profit in material terms :)
Have a blessed day!

A parrot tulip..I had planted some in the garden of my old house in Germany...seeing it on your painting made me miss them anyhow.
I wonder if they're still alive, or already rooted out by the new owner of the house to make a place for their own preference 😊.
You created a good art piece there.
I like it.
Greetings @kobold-djawa ,
How very kind of you to drop by...with your splendid comment.
Oh, you had them in your Garden....Lovely! Did your Parrot Tulips come up year after year? I have not had much success in that regard.
Happy to hear your complimentary words regarding the painting...thank you.
Kindest Regards to you and yours,
Bleujay
I had few kinds of them (different colour combination, very pretty. I had the one with bright yellow, green and red.
Also had one mixed of green and white. I think the one similar like in this picture was also there.
Yes, they were blooming every year.
If you want your flowers of this kind (tulips, daffodils, iris and all of other bulbs) to bloom each season... You need to cut the flower stem as soon as the flower wilted before it starts building the seed capsule.
The plant should concentrate on collecting nutrients and preserve them to save enough energy for the blooming season next year instead of growing seeds.
The genes would choose the "sexual" procreation by nature than the vegetative propagation, unless we manipulate the process by cutting their opportunity LOL.
Cutting the flower stem is exactly the contraceptive measure that we "should" do to prevent them doing those "natural procreation method" 😜😝🤭, if we want to have flowers each year.
There's no need to worry that the plants won't make any "children", cos they are still able to clone new "kids" by budding/dividing the bulbs ☺️. It's even faster anyway to propagate that way than growing them from seeds.
Oh thank you @kobold-djawa for this information, very timely as well.
Appreciate your lovely helpful comment...I will see what I can do.
Cheers, Bleujay
