Greetings Dear Reader;
.
Hope you are well.
It is hard to imagine a better Principle for life.
'The decisions we make determine the life we will lead.'
Let's give this one a look....shall we.
This one seems to be so simply said that one could hear or read it and think they know this truth already....right? The trouble is this timeless truth is pointing at the long term implications of our decisions and unfortunately we have a difficult time seeing life beyond the next five years.
Depending on whether we continue our education at higher levels of learning, whether we decide to marry or not, have children or not....these decisions and more have long term effects on our lives....longer than five years as many decisions do.
A good idea may be to try to take decisions to five years and then give it a think with ten years in mind, with twenty years in mind and so on...in order to come to some idea of what one is considering. Actually to understand the seriousness of the situation at hand.
Shall we give this Timeless Truth a think?
Wishing you and yours all the best....God's best!
.
For God sent not his Son (Jesus Christ) into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3.17
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. Acts 16.31
It is faith alone in Christ alone for eternal life.
.
Thank you for dropping by. ^__^
Kind Regards,
Bleujay

Principles are timeless truths as relevant today as they were yesterday and will be tomorrow.
.
All for our ponderance.

Nice photograph! Looks delicious 😋
I like the plate underneath too. Is that one of those plates that is made to look like lettuce?
Greetings @leaky20 ,
What a lovely comment....appreciate your complimentary words.
Thank you for your kind query.....always appreciate the opportunity to chat regarding antiques.... ^__^
Yes...I am not sure if this would quite make the Majolica Ware category...but it is made in Portugal and does have a lovely resemblance to Lettuce.
Kind Regards to you and your good lady,
Bleujay
Nice! Yes that what I thought it was. I like those dishes. It does look Portuguese. Very cool!
Wow very amazing photography,I like this..
Thank you for your kind words.
Hello and blessed weekend @bleujay friend, for you and all your people around! 🙏... Perfect photographs, created with superlative artistic instinct and supreme chromatism!... And the watercolor, gosh, disruptive, eloquent, challenging and very interesting! 🍑🖌... With respect to planning thinking about the future ☹️, gosh, it has always been difficult for me, since I was young I often act on impulse 😆... It's strange, I know that perhaps it is not the most correct to be like me, but until now it has gone well for me... However, I always spend my time telling my sons and friends to "try to plan their future and act in the present, in accordance with what they want for tomorrow"... That's life! 😂🤷♂...
Thanks for sharing!!!... Sending hugs and regards!!!

How very kind of you to drop by with your lovely complimentary prose, Discovery recommendation and tokens....thank you.
So true...we have acted on impulse at times and it works out despite our rashness sometimes. Perhaps responsibility slipped in afterward and made it a good decision. idk.... ^__^
This is really a good way of putting it ...you said... However, I always spend my time telling my sons and friends to "try to plan their future and act in the present, in accordance with what they want for tomorrow"...Well said!
Wishing you and yours a lovely weekend,
Bleujay

It's actually very important as you've said to factor a lot of things while making decisions. A lot of times, people don't really understand the importance of doing so.
Beautiful picture, I've not really seen peaches in real life, but it looks like you're a general lover of fruits and vegetables

How very kind of you to drop with your lovely comment and bearing gifts....thank you.
We really do not....at the time, at that moment...many times it just seems like a matter of yes or no, when really it is a matter of many decisions afterward.
I wish there was a better way of stating the importance of decision making. Emotion says yes.....Reality says No.... for example...Someone might ask...Do you want a puppy...Oh yes...but the reality of living at school says ...Sorry No. ^__^
If you have not seen peaches....I should have cut one open for you...like you can see in the Watercolour below....though the nectarine is related to the peach and looks very similar ....its difference is that the peach has the slightest bit of a fuzzy surface versus the slick surface of the nectarine.
Enjoyed thinking on these things.
Kind Regards,
Bleujay
The principle you shared “The decisions we make determine the life we will lead” is so true and often something we overlook in the moment. It’s easy to get caught up in what feels urgent now, without thinking about how our choices will shape the years ahead.
Your photos are lovely. There's something so peaceful about the arrangement, especially the contrast between the white peaches and dark plums. And the painting is cool too.
Greetings @toluwanispecial ,
Lovely to hear from you...thank you for your splendid, kind reply.
Happy to hear your articulated thoughts.

Oh yes, our future success and happiness depends on the decisions we are making now!
The different fruits in your photos look all so delicious, and you brilliantly painted the peach, @bleujay!

Welcome
the study you make will determine your future 40 years of work, choosing not to have kids cant be changed after a certain age, choose a yes or no to a marriage is life changing... a lot of choices will impact your whole life, eventually till the end
Happy to hear your thoughts.

The mat under the turquoise tray looks beautiful and exotic!
Simple things are usually the hardest to understand. Most of the decisions we make in the presents are like planting seeds that we can only know of its rewards when sufficient time has already passed. I always try to look at multiple angles of potential outcomes for long term decisions.
Greetings @takhar ,
That is a wise approach....well done.
Happy to hear your thoughts.
Regards, Bleujay
Excellent painting, my friend. So the best thing of all is knowing that your thinking is correct. The decisions we make now will be very important in the future.
Thank you for your kind compliment.

All the decisions we make in life have their causes and consequences, and whether those decisions are correct or not will depend on them. Greetings to you and the family friend

I came for the photograph of some of my favorite fruit ... I stayed for the principle as someone who tries to look down the road and knows that the Lord will lead me right every day ("In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths) and those days will add up to the future ... and I was delighted by the nectarine study. I need to buy some of all these fruits now!
Greetings @deeanndmathews ,
Lovely to hear from you.
So true for us!
Happy to hear your kind thoughts....
Hope you find these tasty fruits.
Kindest Regards Bleujay
Great photos, dear @bleujay. The peaches you photographed look like drawings, and turquoise is my favorite color.
The principle of the day is a saying that should always guide our lives. In Turkish, there is a saying that “every choice is a sacrifice.” When we choose to do one thing, we give up doing another.
Greetings @incublus ,
Lovely to hear from you. Hope you are well.
Thank you for your kind words regarding the photographs.
Turquoise is such a good colour...it seems to go with everything. What a superb favourite colour choice.
Such an interesting Turkish saying. I shall give it a think.
Kind Regards,
Bleujay
I think, @bleujay, that everything depends on how close to the heart we attach our decisions, sometimes you have to swing your sword and forget about the decision made yesterday the next day, just move on and make new decisions :)
Your watercolor gave me the aroma and aftertaste of peaches!

Beautiful and important words that have a deep meaning. From my own experience, I can say with confidence that this is exactly how it happened in my life. All my decisions had consequences, both good and bad. Thank you for the great and interesting topic and congratulations on the beautiful artwork 😊

This principle should be taught from the very beginning of one's schooling. If the youth learned it, had it drilled into them, and really and truly understood it, their lives would come with much more satisfaction and not near as many regrets. It sounds good on paper, but would it really work that way? I must believe that it would. '
Love the principle and of course, your Nectarine Color Study!
Greetings Tammy,
So true....I wish , it does seem almost too abstract, elusive to get across to young minds.
However I think of a story where a young lass saw a recipe in a cookbook for children, so inspired by the book's illustrations and so forth. She selected a Carrot and Raisin Cold Salade. When it was ready to serve and at the table....She took her first bite and began to cry....What's the matter...her mother asked. She answered I hate Carrots and Raisins and this is terrible. Well I hope she learned something...ingredients are important...let's say they are like decisions. ^__^
Thank you for dropping by with your lovely comment and compliments.
Kindest Regards,
Bleujay
Oh that poor girl lol. As you say, a lesson learned, hopefully! I know I have been thinking about this principle and have double-checked my own decision making a couple of times since reading your post. My mind didn't change on these occasions, but I did pause to think a moment.
Sometimes we make decisions we might regret, but it's quite difficult to avoid this.
I wish you a happy weekend.
The layered trays with the vibrant fruit sure make for some tasty composition!
'The decisions we make determine the life we will lead.'
It does seem like a basic truth doesn't it? When I read these, I stop to think about each in the context of examples from my life and mysteries that each might unfold for me. Then, I automatically think of the contrary point and examples. Then I weigh them to decide how each might apply in the future.
I have been thinking about each of our insignificance in the grand scheme of things and assessing how little we can control in this wild world. Knowing that one of the few things we can actually control is how we react/respond to the chaos that is thrown at us. If that is the case, then we really are at the mercy of chaos and the life it will lead us to.
While that may be true, I believe preordained destiny is a bullshit cop out and our decisions are significant. Not enough to control our destiny but definitely enough to determine the life ahead of us on the new path.
Either way, it is a great thing to consider on the way to owning our decisions and making smart choices.
