Scribe of Realms

Milo Davidson was an acclaimed fantasy author, known for his richly woven worlds, complex characters, and engrossing narratives. His masterpiece was the "Rivenlore Chronicles," an epic saga spanning five thick volumes. What Milo didn't realize, however, was that the realm of Rivenlore was more than just fiction.

One day, while working on the sixth volume, Milo was inexplicably transported into Rivenlore. He found himself in the grand city of Ethoria, stood before the majestic Ivory Towers he had written about, and met his characters, who were living, breathing beings in this world.

Milo was astounded. He met Aleron, the wise king; Elysia, the fiery sorceress; the fearless warrior Ryn, and even the sinister Mordekai, whose darkness was as palpable as Milo had envisioned. His characters, each with their distinct personalities, were no longer confined to the pages—they were real.

In Rivenlore, Milo was revered as the Scribe, the creator of their world. He was welcomed with open arms, asked to solve disputes, and consulted in times of crisis. The lines between creator and creation blurred as Milo started influencing the events in Rivenlore directly, shaping and changing the storyline as he saw fit.

However, Milo also realized that his actions had consequences. Changes he made had ripple effects, altering the lives of his characters in unforeseen ways. He felt the weight of his responsibility, understanding that he held the fate of an entire world in his hands.

In time, Milo learned to navigate his dual existence, living in the real world while continuing to influence Rivenlore. He used his experiences to enrich his writing, making the "Rivenlore Chronicles" more captivating than ever. Readers reveled in the intricate detail and depth of the story, oblivious to the fact that the realm they adored was a reality their beloved author traversed.

Thus, Milo Davidson became more than an author. He was the Scribe of Realms, the creator, and influencer of a world that existed beyond the bounds of imagination—a world born from his words, sustained by his creativity, and brought to life by his indomitable spirit.

Authors sometimes fall in love with their characters - I suppose that's the up and the downside of writing in those longer genres. In one of my stories, I met Astrid, one of my characters who claimed to be a goddess. It was upsetting even to write about it. That's what happens when the lines blur between who you are and what you write...and maybe they're not blurred at all :)
