Salutations and my congratulations Ladies of Hive in our 5th Anniversary

A smashing event and credit must be given to not only our leaders, our moderators, and team members but most of all our our fraternity of brothers and sisters who have participated in this community over these five amazing years.

I’ve been here before our Pre-Hive years. Eight years in total now, as @hivebuzz has kindly reminded me with succinct flourish, though I find myself reluctant at revealing my true Hive age. Today’s occasion had set me reminiscing of those early years. With the wounds still tender from the hard fork there was a fresh restart with many bloggers migrating over from the old block chain to the promised land of Hive.

Not all communities survived the transition as the previous Ladies centred community had all but faded away, leaving an unfulfilled need. @silversaver888 took hold the reigns and like a saving angel rescued it breathing life back into a renewed Ladies of Hive community.

SilverSaver and I already have a history together from our YouTube days. A heart of gold and generous soul with a John Woo gunslinger style we’ve often refer to each other as Stacking Sisters as a term of endearance pertaining to our common interest in collecting gold and silver coins. Our vehicle of inflation proof savings.

I can remember when she first approached me about participating in the Ladies community and I can sense her excitement about it. This is the primary reason I signed up. As a friend this long, I could not disappoint her. Despite my loner nature and reluctance to socialize, she had the perfect fix to get me out of that shell, “I’m going to make you a Moderator.” she said.

Gasp.

My secondary reason is my concern for the new junior accounts, those that feel discouraged by the lack of interest and engagement. I’ve been there and understand. And I am painfully aware of Hive’s on-boarding problems and do my part in support and encouragement.

While I make every effort to welcome our ‘First Timers’ as I find them, I wish to exhort all our Moderators and members to do the same, let’s welcome our new members, wish them success, offer tips and invite them to our Ladies of Hive Discord server. Pssst, we have goodies like LOH and pizza tokens there. 😉

If I were asked, “What would make Ladies of Hive better in the next five years.”
It would be that each one of us make the effort to welcome, support and encourage each other and to feel as if we are members of a family.

When each of us grows, we all grow as a community.

I am among those who work behind the scenes to help in small ways, more interested in the welfare of the communities rather than maximizing token income.
I count myself blessed to have this 28k+ HP stake and putting it to good use in the LOH community, I'll make my 30k HP goal by New years. Yet I get more joy out of seeing our juniors meet their milestones.

What is amazing is that I have been challenged with dyslexia since my High School years, my kids have that condition too. And I am also diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
I can type/write but very slow.
It takes me a long time to write a post to my crazy standards.

So great that you have been with LOH since the inception! Becoming a moderator must have been a challenge, buy you've done a great job! I love the images you created, they really cool, how well do you like Night Cafe? I haven't tried that one out.

We really need to improve on onboarding problem still. Many people join but few stick around as it takes time and a lot of patience and effort to get to the point that you are earning anything significant. Engagement also is pretty weak, and I'm glad the LOH work to support the new members.

I hope you're doing well, it's nice to see you post every now and then. I know it isn't easy!

Setting the subject up and the judging is a lot of work having to read and make determination for the winning post. Reading, commenting and upvoting each entry post. Often a hundred entries inside a week. Judging is the hardest part, almost agonizing hard. Each of us have a different set of criteria, means and style.

I've tried a few different ones. Other than PeakD's AI, I've tried Adobe Firefly, not bad allowing me to use a few different algos and similar to Night Cafe. I'm just more accustomed to Cafe's Free mode, you're very limited on algo styles but more intuitive and logically laid out.

I've already spent three days painstakingly putting this post together. Typing hasn't gotten any easier. At least gave me a few days warning before dropping another post I was working on. Come November, my disability benefits will end and my early retirement commences.

Gotta hit the sack soon, it's almost 2am.

That was a lot of painstaking hours, but it came out wonderfully! I'll have to look at Night Cafe, never a bad thing to have another option in the AI quiver. Will the retirement benefits be comparable to the disability benefits? It's too bad you are having so many health issues, you're too young for all of that crap!

Silversaver and I have been friends well before Hive. We would look out for each other's interest like blood sisters. An intangible bond and trust. We've never met in person but by years of personal messages over different platforms.
