LOH #248; The Dark Wardrobe of the Bloody Raven
I couldn’t resist this weeks queries about our fashion choice in color. Darkness is all colors as I discovered far back in Highschool art class as I mixed all the colors together into one cup then proceeded to paint my black masterpiece. 'Punk black bear in a coal mine.'

What is the most dominant color in your wardrobe/closet? Was it a conscious choice, or did it just turn out that way over time? Feel free to give us a sneak peek!

The origins of my favorite shade of dark. The less brilliant high-school students tend to have their own identity wearing something black that often went with the silvery punk spikes. We were proud of being our misfit group of academic outcasts. Most of us were more talented in the performing, visual, musical and literary arts rather than the classic Reading, Riting and Rithmatic disciplines. Besides, it's safer to rebel in numbers.

I do have two outfits that are mostly red; A vintage 1950s styled Valentine dress and a Chinese silk Cheongsam. And I can admit here, and only here, to my Hive brothers and sisters having a few light black and white summer outfits that say Black-ish attitude without feeling too overheated under the scorching sun.

Shoes? All black, some with red accented like the my Demonia platform Mary Janes. And this is only the tip of the shoes & boots iceberg.

I did try on a wedding dress at a Thrift shop just for curiosity sake and stared at a mirror.
Too much white!
Clashes with black lipstick.
I get too much attention.
Then I though about Danny.
He was 69, much older than I thought.
And that didn't matter in my heart.😭
Oh Danny! I'll leave this hanging here.
I don't think I'm quite over him yet.

Yeah, you need more colors, hehe . But we have preferences and likings anyway.
Before the dominant color in my closet was pink and yellow. But now, it's too random haha .
The snap from my closet says it all.
It's not totally black.
I've so cozy with black since Highschool it's a bit difficult to make changes on long ingrained habits. My kids wear dark clothing most of the time. I saved a lot of Gas heating cost washing in cold water though, helping with some cash savings. !LOL
About 70% of my wardrobe were purchased rather cheap from my local Thrift shops.

My daughter used to wear all black , when she was +/- 12 i think up to 16 17 she loved gothic back then.
Oh that early experimental phase, the subculture's style isn't suited for everyone but she gets kudos for having experience it's music, literature and art. As the years go by, I get less and less dark (mell😬wed may be the word). In fact, some of my old HSchool haunts may not recognize me if I bumped into them.

The second shot from the left is my pirate alter ego cosplay Pirate. The girl Friday office outfit on the right doesn't fit anymore, that was 6 years ago at my Care unit. I'm far from 71, I hope to make it past 71. I want to see grand children before I go. I'd dress them up in black onesies...

Most of my outfits were sourced from Thrift shops. I'd be featured on the cover of 'Darkness on a Dime,' if there is such a mag. I am very patient in specialty wear website sales. I love MJs with big chunky heals. I'm not a stiletto heals person. Those Demonia Mega Platform boots get me up to my adult son's height $70 CAD lightly used what a deal.

I'm with you there! I can NOT wear stilettos at all. My balance is much too terrible. Though I'm not sure I could manage platforms either at my age. 😆

Omg, the color of your wardrobe reminds me of my fav group Stray Kids, black and red. And seriously that combo is really a cool color. I also love black, that's the color of almost my tshirt, even short. ✨💃. And you know, black is really beautiful.
Black and red, that was much my trademark. I'm going into retired life so I need to mellow so I'm keeping the black and have more red and white floral accents. The second shot second from the left is my alter ego pirate cosplay based on a few anime characters. It made for a fun Halloween outfit.

I tend to have mostly black as well, but have been trying to add more color. The problem is that I prefer black; it hides a multitude of body image flaws!
I have to ask.....just how do you walk in the platform shoes that look to be 3-4" in height without breaking an ankle? Grace isn't my middle name, so I'd be a disaster in something like that!

Wearing black my family saves a lot of cash saved from hot water heating. 70% of my wardrobe is thrifted, and Black lipstick and nail polish is found most often in the clearance section of my drugstore. Darkness on the cheap. Helps me afford all that silver.
At first, don't rush, walking with patience.
I got used to them but I don't like stiletto heals. I'd rather have chunky heels. The heels would get me up to my son's height. !LOL

My personal style took years to get where it is yet left space flexible enough to change my moods with proper accessories; rings, pendants, chokers, punk spikes, katana ...oh, how about this as an accessory?
This goes with my Pirate Cosplay outfit, second portrait from the left of my 4shot picture. I practiced Kenjutsu Tamashiguri martial arts some years earlier and these are genuine functional weapons. I made sure they'd match my wardrobe too!

There's not enough smoke around here to smoke my sockeye salmon.
We don't have enough wild hickory trees growing downwind of any fire to my location.
There was some rain over the last 24 hours. Fires around here have been a statistical low this season. 150+/- count.
So far, no one I know are in fire trouble.
