Working on the fish pond
Having a fish pond at home with a water fountain was always on my mind when we had started building the home. During the construction work, we had got the pond brick structure ready with tile fillings done on it. But then the plumbing and other work was still not done. A lot of things I am doing it at a slow pace, there is no need for me to hurry because as it is I am not living here on permanent basis, so some of these things can wait. It's not a necessity, it's the beautification part, so it can happen slowly gradually. At the end of the day, doing anything is an expense.
The pond work is hubby's idea; he has always been fond of having pet fishes and we have fish tank at our home in Muscat also. In this home, since we have a good outdoor space, we thought of having an outdoor set up rather than indoor. The work is still not complete, during this visit we focused on getting the plumbing work done and the roof. It rains very heavily here so having a top cover will help with the overflow of water in the pond. The pond elevation still has to be done with fiber panels, which will be the project of our next visit, and only after that we will keep some fishes in it and also do some light work in it to make it attractive.
As of now this much work is done, and it looks neat, even if there are no fishes yet in the pond, the show is not bad. I still need to figure out how to cover up those pipes because I am finding them a little odd being kept open.
It does look good from all sides, once it will be fully done, I am sure it will add a lot of charm to my outdoors.
The roof work was done by the welder at his shop and he brought it all ready here and completed the fitting part.
One more task completed. When you do everything by yourself there is a sense of joy and achievement. In this home, every single thing has been planned and designed by me personally. Somethings have gone wrong also, but that's ok, I still have the joy of doing it. Now, it's a wait of 4 more months till I do the remaining part of the job and complete this fully.
