In confusion

avatar

There are so many things to do and think of while making a home. Now that the home structure is completed I have to think of getting other things done. Right now my focus is on making up the garden area. I have kept half of the compound area for gardening and the other half will be tiled up for parking, pool deck and walking paths. This area which has to be tiled up, for that I have already selected the tiles. I selected a mix of plain and design tiles which blends with each other. The garden area, there is not enough soil, so I need to get soil from the market and make the garden. For that I have to look at a good source who can provide me good quality chemical free soil.

In a couple of days I will return back to Muscat again so before that I had to finalize on all the designing and layout part and also check the work which has been completed. The bathrooms have come out very well. For the bathrooms there was some rework that was done, and that costed me some more money but after seeing the final results I feel it's worth it compared to that additional cost. Now I am fully satisfied with the final outcome of the bathroom.

Right now my confusion is on the tiling work of the garden area, how to set the design. There are 2 ways in which I can make the design. I am sharing here both of them and you guys can also advice which one looks better. I have been in favor of putting the same ones 4 together, and hubby is in favor of setting up single alternatively.

This one is my preferred pattern.

This one is hubby's

Because the are is big I feel that the bigger patters will look better and spaced out while single alternate may look a little too much cramped up and it may also hit the eye. What do you guys have to suggest.

Little things but yet it takes up a lot of my time. These small selections are more stressful then the bigger work. Tomorrow very important work has to be done which is installing the Solar panels. From the beginning I have always wanted to do this for my place. I want to be as much as possible self-reliant, so solar panels, bore-well water and rain water harvesting, all of these things were on priority of my list. As it gets completed one by one, I am feeling very happy and good about these accomplishments.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

The selection of the tiles looks absolutely beautiful to begin with but when you are done, kindly show us how your beautiful garden will look like ..

I think if the area is big then going with your pattern of 4 looks more suitable, simply because it'll feel more structured and stand out than the smaller pattern chosen by your hubby. Good to hear that the work on your compound is progressing nicely :)

I am also thinking on the same lines. Thank you, the work is hectic and it's now on fast track, because we would like to complete the painting before the monsoon sets in June, so lot of things to do

Yes, it makes sense rationally and intuitively. Good pace to work on to get most of the important things completed before June. I pray everything gets ready by then :)

It is a difficult decision, both patterns look great, as it is for the garden I think the pattern of four looks more harmonious and can give the feeling of more depth and breadth of the place.

I have the same feeling, since the area is big a spread out design will be better, else it might just hit the eye too much

Your hubby's pattern looks like a chess board. It's very mathematical, coming from the analytical mind. Your pattern emits a warmer, fuzzier energy. Go with your intuition. Let your innate intelligence guide you with this one.

I told him the same exactly, that his pattern looks like a chess board. He finally agreed to mine and we are going ahead with the bigger blocks. I feel the space will look open with the bigger ones.
