The News

I see Bitcoin hit another all time high recently. It has pretty much doubled in the last year with a few dips. That would be a decent return generally, but crypto people like bigger gains. They may not find those with $HIVE lately. That peaked at 65c at the start of the year, but has mostly been under 30c since then. We need something to give us a boost.

I mentioned @keychain last time, but they keep innovating. Now they added swaps to other chains and more languages.

@meno and his team have been busy getting @snapie into the app stores to reach a wider audience. We need people to appreciate the crypto can be social and that there are alternatives to the corporate platforms that will exploit you.

@steembasicincome has been around for a long time (hence the name) as a way to get other people some extra votes. They are changing how you can get a refund from what you paid in.

There are various places you can access statistics about your Hive accounts. @holoz0r has created the Hive Report Card that give you more of this. Also check out his photography.

Of course @hivefest kicks off in Kuala Lumpur next week. I know lots of people who are going, but I will not be there. I have other plans and am avoiding long flights, but I want to get to more Hive events. Be sure to follow the posts and videos that come from Malaysia.

• @dannewton shares my passion for running and he just ran a half marathon. He is also into wildlife photography, especially moths.
• @nicklewis is into electronic music and is building a collection of sounds. He welcomes contributions to that.
• I bought a load of music from @solarphasing that was on special offer. Some atmospheric stuff there, including some that is just right for Halloween.

As I just got a 3D printer I have been checking on what others have been doing in that area. I found some of them in this community. Communities are ideal for niche interests to bring people together. I think they are actually less useful if they get too big and are just about getting votes. We need to get discussions going to keep people engaged. This platform was originally envisioned to be something like reddit (hence the old name). Find your 'tribe' and have fun. You can always create a community if what you want does not exist. It only costs about 3 $HIVE. You get to moderate what appears there.

I skipped the #FollowFriday post last week, but sometimes I do not have much to report or I want to do other posts. I am quite happy for others to use this tag and they can mention me if they think I may want to share the post. I am all for building the community and making connections, despite what some may say about me. My actions are all logged on the blockchain for anyone to check on.
