The News
I am sure plenty of people have been following the progress of $LEO since they stopped minting it. The price really went up, but seems to have peaked for now slightly higher than $HIVE. That is on much lower volume, but it will make a big difference to those who hold some. I am sure I am not the only one to sell a little. My priority is HP and I have also sold some Splinterlands cards to boost that lately. I may be up for doing some deals on those.
I have seen a few people marking nine years on this blockchain. I hit that milestone too a couple of weeks ago. Those of us who got in early had some advantages, but this is still a pretty small community and you can get noticed if you do good things. It really is up to you to connect with people who share your interests. Just pestering everyone will be less effective and may be counterproductive as people here have a low tolerance for spam of any kind. Join relevant communities and comment on posts you actually enjoy or where you can add value.
I did not really pick up on much Hive news this week as I have been busy lately, but feel free to share some yourself. Anyone can post news and follow suggestions. I have done this under #FollowFriday for years and people seem to like it.
Friday Follows
- @louis88 has been looking at security issues on Hive projects. This is important work as we need to keep our keys safe. I also enjoy his updates on his solar panels. He and his brother @rivalzzz get to a lot of Hive events.
- I enjoy a lot of music and it is good to see what people like @thetroublenotes and @ravenmus1c are up to. They both seem very busy lately.
- I have met @edent at various non-Hive events. He is a prolific blogger who posts on all sorts of topics. He has had a Hive account for a while, but is more into platforms like Mastodon where people tend to be anti-crypto. I did manage to tempt him back this week, but I am not sure he will be a regular visitor. You can leave him a comment anyway.
- I saw @dreeyor crop up in the Comics community. He says he was inspired by prolific artist @sidekickmatt to join Hive and wants to post his own work. Being from Nigeria he will have a different perspective.
The Dog House
I have posted before about getting hassled over the downvotes other people get. I will repeat that I have nothing to do with this and have no influence on the big accounts who do it. I have asked them and others to not do this as it just aggravates the situation, but I cannot force anyone to change their ways. Those getting downvoted need to consider if their actions provoke this reaction. Posting the same things over and over whilst tagging people is not considered good behaviour. I know they have been muted by most of those who were tagged, so it is ineffective anyway.
I will ask anyone seeing this to NOT downvote or attack anyone involved in this dispute. That will just make it worse. Hive has enough drama as it is.
I really do not know why anyone would think I have influence on whales. I have met some of them at Hivefest, but I will talk to most people there. I may also comment on their posts, but this does not make us friends. I just try to treat everyone with respect to keep things amicable as I am trying to avoid conflict. Those who like to cause trouble tend to stay anonymous for good reasons. I was involved with fighting some abuse, but mostly gave that up ages ago as it was too stressful.
Hive is my main online home and so I try to get along with people. If I do not then I avoid them. Pestering me will not get you anywhere. I have seen plenty of accounts get hammered after going on the attack against the Hive community and that can be sad. This online crap is not worth all that stress and real life is more important.
I will not name names, but everything is recorded on the blockchain forever.
The End
After getting that off my chest I will look forward to my weekend doing things that matter to me. I hope everyone has a good one.

I'm only in my second week here but it's impressive to see so many people who have been around for so long. Things like an apparent penalty some people might get from downvotes sound a little scary, but so far I've been focusing on the experience rather than the payouts and been having a good time. So maybe any downvotes won't affect me that much just in case ;-)
Have a good weekend!
Downvotes are a tiny part of Hive, but people can feel it's unfair. It's just best to be honest in what you do here. I think most people have a positive experience.
So far from what I've experienced there's much less upvoting going on than on platforms that don't have restrictions on how many you can do, and where they don't have a direct economic impact. So I guess that doubles for downvotes, as they're less effective in directing value
Voting here has a cost as well as giving value. If you build up some HP, then the cost is fairly irrelevant, but you still run down your voting power. Most people can't give much rewards, but that does not mean they should not vote. A lot of it is automated, but mine is mostly manual and I can give out a few dollars per day that I spread around. We can give less downvotes per day, but most people never use them.
Thanks for the explanation!
Thanks for mentioning my music! I appreciate it!! !PIZZA
You are very welcome. I'm always amazed by how much you do.

Creating a supportive community on Hive is super important. Cheers to all the long-term members who are making a difference ;)
LEO had indeed some crazy ups, and its not ended when leostrategy will use all surge hive to buy leo we will see a new pike
Keep it real mate and don't let online stuff bother you. As you say it really isn't worth it
I just want the truth on the chain.
The truth is out there it's just that some refuse to see it
Sadly, I don't think people understand the meaning of what a true friend is. Kids these days are even growing up thinking that these YouTube stars they watch are their friends even though they have never met them in real life. It's sad.
Knowing people does not make them your friends or let you tell them what to do. You can still have mutual respect, but people will act as they see best for Hive.
Nice share and as per...

I've held a fair amount of leo twice in the many years leo has been running, sold both times likely at a loss, I wasn't really keeping track. When I heard about them stopping minting, I brought like 150 tokens cause I knew it'd rocket up eventually. I'm going to wait for the point the price levels off.. thats when the revenue can't push the price any higher.. That's when I'll likely sell.
An easy profit, not life changing money though, I don't really care for LEO or L2 tokens in general anymore.
I'm not so into the project, but I'll take the profit. We need diversity in Hive projects, so I wish them well.
