A great new tool to analyze Hive Engine tokens

A great new tool to analyze Hive Engine tokens.jpg

We have some nice tools like tribaldex, hive-engine or beeswap to get market info about hive engine tokens. It's nice however to see a brand new site coming out that gives some information that is not so readily available.

The team around @thecrazygm and @ecotheexploiter have published a new site called the Market-Viewr where you can look up hive-engine tokens. You can't directly trade on the site but you can get the info related to the coins with a richlist of the liquid token holders for example. What I find more interesting however is the Market Data for each token....

Long term chart

One chart that is missing on most front-ends is a chart of the token price over a longer segment of time. With Market-Viewr, I found some chart data that went back to September 2023, which is around 1.5 years. On all the other front-ends, the maximum I could go back was around 4 months. This allows for a much longer view frame for the tokens and can be very important for potential investors and their decision taking.

I also liked to be able to download the chart as a png. When you hower at the top right of the chat, you will see some symbols appear and the print screen is just one of these options.

If you hover on the top right of the chart, you will see some symbols appear. The little camera allows you to download the graph as a png image

Order book with account names

Another interesting feature for me is to be able to see the order book not only with the orders but also with the users hat have set up these orders. This gives a new layer of transparency to a project. You can see who wants to buy and who wants to sell the tokens. You can see how much the owner of the project interacts with the market and who sets up buy or sell walls.

image.png
In addition to the habitual information related to the orders in the book, you also find the account that has set up the orders

More information and more transparency

The tool is maybe quite similar to other market front-ends and you can't directly transact on it but it adds an additional information layer to the tokens that wasn't readily available on the existing market front-ends. It shows a chart with a time frame that goes back several years and it also provides the accounts of the people who populate the order books.

It's great to see new tools being developed around the hive-engine ecosystem and we hope to see even more such tools !

That is interesting, any new tool is welcome. The problem with so many of these is they're new, some have support long term and a plan others don't. As I've progressed here on Hive I've been burned a couple of times and become much more careful. Thanks for sharing this info!

You are totally right about that and it's a problem that hive has. A lot of things are developed by a single person or small groups and few manage to maintain the tools in the long run.

I agree, me and a couple other guys got burned by DVS and DHEDGE. That's when we crated DUO trying to fill holes in Hive and have something with stability. With three of us there is continuity even if two of us drop dead... One man projects can be very risky as we found out!

Thanks for the information it is good to have multiple tools to gather a clearer view of the bigger picture, have the best day

Yes, while I am still learning about it, nice to see the work @ecoinstant and others are putting into Hive Engine. I had initially decided to hold back on powering up every single HIVE, as I thought there might be some L2 tokens to invest in.

Sadly, while I am still looking, I have yet to find one that passes my screens from my experiences in the broader crypto world.

As a Witness, what is your perspective on the future of the the VSC Network becoming a viable alternative to Hive Engine? Or some other alternative to it, which is directly built by the Hive blockchain?

I think anything related to the smart contract functionality we find in the EVM-based crypto worlds will play an important role in the Hive blockchain's future. If that day arrives, I hope that functionality is built-in directly.

I think that with Hive-engine we have actually quite an acceptable solution that links us also with other blockchains. There are some things that I would love to see changed like being able to give up minting authority like you can do on Solana for example. But otherwise Hive-engine is quite battle tested, even though a lot of tokens have disappeared on the road.

I think that the VSC project will fulfill one major role which is to link hive to other evm chains. I honestly don't know how far things are evolved but I'm not sure that VSC will be able to fill the place of HE anytime soon, the way I understand what they are working on.

Do you mean the centralized system that HE employs?

I'd be curious to know what you believe lacks in VSC compared to HE. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I don't think that VSC lacks anything compared to HE. What I mean is that it will take time for VSC to build and test everything. Hive-engine has definitely an issue with centralisation, especially when it comes to transfer to and from other blockchains. At the moment it's at least a solution that we have that doesn't require to go over CEX's. I'm looking forward to be able to go over VSC for that. Once WBTC is implemented on VSC, we will have this gateway and I'm looking forward to it :-)

Hive-Engine offers the possibility to create tokens without needing to write a single line of code. It offers a DEX for these tokens and liquidity pools. I haven't read anywhere that VSC plans to implement that. I think that there is space for both L2 solutions but I'd love to see such features implemented on VSC as well.

Totally understand, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. DEX is something we plan on deploying fairly soon after the mainnet launch for Hive-HBD. Community token creation and what not is planned, but it's a longer term goal that we have to work on to build the standards and technology required to make that happen. Though, we are moving fast and hope we can get to it as quickly as possible! :)

Okay, thank you for sharing your perspective on this with me, @achim03. I still have plenty to learn, so at some point maybe I will find an L2 token on Hive Engine which looks like a worthwhile investment.

I know from experience that on hive and in the crypto world in general, there is always something to learn :-)

Yes, no doubt of that, @achim03. Having just talked about this, in my feed, I now see this:

"Breaking: VSC Mainnet Soft Launch Date Confirmed!"

Where we find, in the FAQs:

"Token support is possible via VSC smart contracts in a similar fashion to how they are done on Ethereum, Solana, etc.."

"We do not support any kind of bridging or migration from HE to VSC at this time."

You and others know more about the market inside Hive. We'll find out together soon enough what the movement of $$s indicates about the demand for an alternative to Hive Engine.

Interesting times!

Thanks for trying, caring and testing - and the shout out!

Yes, 500 days is the "max". I think we could do it for longer.... but we will see if anyone wants that.

Also, please consider our proposal 339 to support us building more cool modules to fill all the holes around, working with everyone!

500 days is way better than the 100 that the other market front-ends offer. It give a much broader view of the token evolution that hasn't been visible most of the time. I've just read through the proposal several times and left a comment there :-).

I have some ideas, but I will tell you here - i am struggling with how to "explain", what to be explicit about. I cannot be both modular + flexible AND verbose and specific - these are mutually exclusive!

But see this tool here? you like it? this is what we are doing :)

I think that for non-coders it would help to know what they could do thanks to your work. If you plan to provide tools for non developers, it would certainly help if your target group understands what you have to offer :-).

This is a good thing, it will let us know how much of each coin we have, so I will definitely use this because I also get a lot of coins in the hive engine.

I think that is a nice tool, and ability to find chart data from over a year ago makes it unique in its own way. I hope more tools like this come out.

You can see who wants to buy and who wants to sell the tokens.

That's quite a useful feature I think.

Thanks for sharing about his new tool! Thanks to you, and to the creator of the tool!

It sounds interesting. I have seen his post, but apparently I haven't delved well-enough into the interface to discover the new features. The longer term chart is very important and I often felt the need for one.

Thanks Achim for sharing this!

I have found the layer 2 charts far too limiting in time! This is much better and you can see more users with the order info book...

Not sure that you have seen this @shanibeer
