The struggle is real
To earn a living is to make money to be able to support yourself in one way or the other. Earning a living here in Nigeria is not the easiest, it is mostly hard. The economy is not very stable and even finding a job whether as a graduate or not is hard, because there are no much jobs.
A lot of people have to work harder than some to be able to pay for food, clothes, rent, fees and others. Some people have to even work part time in about 4 different places to cover these. They do these jobs not because they can endure the stress that comes with it, but because they don't have choice.
Earning money in my country depends on education and skills, but when being educated also hope you have connections except God favours you. Once you have skills and you're very good at it and know how to market yourself, you are good to go. Even when you have good education, you might be faced with the challenge of low salaries and longer working hours.
For example, as a degree holder, you have your certificate and applied for a teaching job and your employer said you will be paid thirty five thousand naira and you will have to resume work by 7am and close by 5pm. This is something that happens and I have seen it up close. Those who don't even have formal education even find it more difficult because they have to do manual work or very low paying jobs.
Sometimes people even go as far as taking risks to earn more. They invest in companies and businesses, and sometimes these investments lead to losses. Many people work long hours, travel far, or take multiple jobs just to survive. Despite all this, people are hardworking and always find ways to provide for their families.
Earning money in my dear fatherland is not easy but it's definitely possible. With hardwork, skill and determination, one can achieve it. Life maybe hard but it doesn't stop people from working hard to provide for themselves and their families. Earning maybe hard but it also shows the strength and resilience of people.
