Indiaunited contest : Theme: New Year Resolutions

My response to the @Indiaunited Contest - Theme: New Year Resolutions?

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Personally, I do not believe in New Year resolutions. from 31st Dec to 1st Jan, it is just the same like any other change of the month, so if I need to do something that I have not done for the whole year then how is it possible that suddenly on the 1st of the month I will start doing that, and even if I start what is the guarantee that it will sustain.

This does not mean that I do not have goals or resolutions. I do have and they are all time based, and I do not wait for New Year to set them and implement them. The one constant goal I have is maintaining my health and fitness. Thing that matters to me, I like to work on them all throughout the year. I have seen that people who wait to start things at the beginning of the New Year, fizz out very soon, they can barely continue for few days and then again it's the same.

Change of the year does mean something, numbers carry energy, so of course New Year has some significance and that will be impacting your life in some way. On the first day of the New Year, I always visit some of the Temples and seek blessings from the divine almighty for a good year and set some intentions, which are for me to be a better person. That's all I do for the New Year, other than that life goes normal for me. There are no New Year resolutions as such for me. Though in the past I used to do that, but I realized they were never followed, in a few days' time only I would give up. So since past many years I stopped that practice. New Year hype stays only for 1 week and after that everything gets back to normal.

With that, I do not discourage those who set resolutions. If something is motivating then better follow it, then be it just a change of day and year. If something good is happening with it, then why not. But very important is discipline to follow it. I feel the biggest resolution one can set on the New Year is to maintain discipline in life, then all other resolutions by themselves will get accomplished.

It's a good thing you visit the temple even though you do not believe in new year resolution. Thank you for sharing
