The heat wave: My strategy to staying cool..ππ
It was around February last year, the heat wave then was like nothing I've ever seen, although here in Africa we have basically two seasons and that is The rainy season and Dry season , the rainy season usually runs from March down October, while the Dry season kicks off from november down to March of the following year, this is the normal rotatation, however the dry season around November is usually characterise by dry cold wind from the Sahara desert, sometimes accompanied with heat....

While we thought this was the case, the February of last year was totally different, the heat was on another level, the heat was really much at one point I was like maybe someone went to hell and forgot to shut the door behind them, or was it climate change really affecting us now?
It was so hot that even while I was in doors with the fan at the highest I was still sweaty, there are days I would rush into the shower to cool off a bit and soon after I'm out I began sweaty again, the heat wave was all over the country at the time, till the point people were we no longer sleeping indoors again because it was impossible to stay indoors due to the high level Of hit, so we would spread our mat outside and sleep out till morning.....
At noon was worst when the sun was up so high, you dare not stay in doors, you will get soaked in your own sweat, it was difficult to have a good sleep at noon or at night, so most of the time we were outside,
This made me recall what I was taught in my school days about how we have damaged the ozone Layer which was suppose to shield us from the sun infra-red ray which was to high it could affect our skin if we are not careful, caused by the different gaseous emission that our industries, the cars, jets release to the air had somehow damage the ozone layer now exposing us to direct sunlight.
There was little or nothing we could do at this point to curtain the high heat, well except you're among the wealthy ones who had air-conditioner install in their homes, offices and of course in their cars and so they could feel very little of the effect, for us it was a different story all together...
Most noon time i and my friends would prefer to go hang out at the pool side and soak ourselves in the water ...till we are tired... it was just a small fee like with a thousand naira we could spend all day at the pool, especially the weekends, we would swim till we get tired then lay by the pool then get back in, it was this period that i observed that the waters are even cooler during the heat than other timed
However In subsequent months it began to subside and everything eventually returned to normal, I think we experienced this for almost three months or there about but then it was a period we would never pray for...
