Friendly tips for newbies on hive.

Hello everyone, welcome to a new week.

Starting hive was no walk in the park for me. I was a disbeliever in web3 and all its benefits until I joined. Well, I did it to cease the pressuring of my onboarder but today after two full tears gone and counting, I have become a hive enthusiast.

I have successfully onboarded four persons but only three out of that four are active so far. Before I go ahead to onboard anyone, I usually lay out some pieces of advice for them because I don't want to be called a scammer tomorrow.

The first thing I tell them is that hive is not a get rich quick space. I understand that one can be enticed by the crypto while being disillusioned into thinking that from the very first post, money will begin pouring in. Hive is a place to work and earn but the earnings are unpredictable.

If the only thing a newbie focuses on is the money, then they would surely be disappointed. Good earnings require lots of effort put into consistent content creation, engagements and connection building and doing all these is not a day's work. It requires time and willingness.

Secondly, I would advice a newbie to be true to yourself. This was one of the factors that helped me very much on hive. I was a genuine writer and I still am. I go for prompts that I'm comfortable with and able to respond to. I don't just do whatever and however on hive.

One thing that has kept this working for me is that I always remember that the internet never forgets. Hence, whatever you put on hive will be found and read by thousands, if not millions of web users at anytime. Being true to yourself will help maintain ingenuity and one will not be afraid of anything.

I came across a post by hivewatchers where they highlighted several accounts suspected of posting Ai generated contents. If as a newbie, you remain original, you will have no fear of such coming your way.

My third advice would be have fun while on hive. This is very important because if as a newbie, you take hive as a chore, you will soon experience burn-out and that would not be good at all for your hive journey.

Hive is a place to explore, learn and be adventurous. Follow the flow of fun as you connect with others on the blockchain. Explore communities and find your niche. Being passionate about your writing is another thing that can help a newbie.

I often come across people saying they encounter writer's block. I cannot relate with this because I always have thoughts to express and things to say especially when it is on personal attributes and experiences. My bowels are loaded, hehe.

My last but not least advice to a newbie would be to always follow community rules. Most posts oget muted and overlooked because they do not follow community rules. Rules are given for a reason and they play an important role when winners of contests are to be picked. Don't just post content. Make sure to abide by the rules of a community for safe landing.

All these are the pieces of advice that I would gladly dish out to a newbie on hive.

Glad to be participating in the #indiaunited contest. Join in here.

Thank you for reading. Have a pleasant week everyone.
