My Place of Comfort

Hello everyone, I hope we are all enjoying our day. We all have various things that attract our interests and bring comfort to us. It could be our homes, our places of work, places of worship and all that. Some may even derive joy and comfort from travelling. For me however, a place that brings comfort to me happens to be my farm.

We all know that we cannot survive without food. So it becomes imperative to farm. Virtually everyone is a farmer. Because we all have those little things we plant, both flowers, ornaments and so on.

For me however, I love farming various kinds of crops - cash crops and annual crops. Some may find farming tedious and demanding but I don't see it that way, especially when you go into mechanised farming.

When I plant these crops, nurture them and watch them grow to maturity it gives me comfort. Like I said, I plant both cash crops and annual crops. I'll stick to annual crops for this exposition. Thus said, when you put some corns into the soil for instance and come back after four days to see them sprout up with fresh foliages that look like leaves it gladdens the heart; it brings comfort to me.

When I take some months and weed them, chase birds that may come to tamper with the flowers and the new curbs, it really gives me comfort. When I chase squirrels and other rodents that may flock into the farm to destroy the new curbs that are budding, it gives me comfort too.

Now come to think of it, upon maturity I harvest and take some home while the rest of the proceeds are taken to the market where I sale and make some cool profits. That way too I also make a little earnings and contribute my quota in feeding humanity.

Farming gives me the opportunity to nurture life apart from that of a human being. When you nurture a plant or crops and watch it grows to maturity it gives joy generally. Having come thus far, for me, my farm is my place of comfort; it gives me comfort.

Farming is indeed a noble profession which all should embark on without regrets.
