What a weekend! As you've probably noticed, the Bro Bang mini-game went online on Friday. A short report for those interested and a preview of what's to come.
As always, I'm trying to make the content consumable as quickly as possible. Therefore:
The next figure doesn't seem impressive at first. But it is all the more so when you think about it. These 300 rounds were played by:
That is a very good ratio!
But to be honest: 113 Hivians have a CCCEO Access Code and most of these Hivians don't know. this fact. Just a few know that they have because of an AMA or similar. Time to write a post and mention them!
Back to the 16 players. Now of course there are some players who have only played one, two or three rounds. That's perfectly okay - one type of game will probably never appeal to 100 percent of people. Maybe the players didn't have more time at that moment. In any case, I'm happy about every "play", every "Sure, I'll take a look!"
If you do the math: You never reach all the interested parties you could reach. (Some are on vacation, overlook it, ...) Furthermore: Not everyone you reach with your message reacts to it. Those who do react do not all react immediately. Now there are further hurdles, such as the CCCEO Access Code. In the end, I find 16 players who have played almost 300 games and made 13,000 bangs, is impressive.
That's 812,5 bangs per player! On average! An indicator that people like the game. (And I heard not only once that this game makes addicted.) I look very closely at the stats: all natural player behavior so far. Currently officially without any chance of winning, so just for the fun of it, all in all, that's ... not only an indication of a currently very entertaining game, but also a ...
Very important for all of us: without any bigger bugs
I was able to see 2 bugs in the headlights in screenshots taken by players. The players themselves will probably not have noticed the bug.
A few more comments have come from @forykw and @slothlydoesit. My special thanks! Both of them not only had good hints, but also triggered great ideas in me!
Just as an idea: in addition to the ranking for the highest score, we could also have a ranking for the best average, be it points per game or measured by speed. How about a prize for the most active players? What about a place for the funniest game behavior?
In general, observing the game has given me more ideas on how I could improve the game, especially in the area of user experience, and I am very happy to integrate this bit by bit. Some of the feedback I received has already been implemented. In the back of my mind I already have a small reward for those who examine the game so well or give feedback.
I'm not going to announce... But of course I'm working on making sure that you get a summary of the current results here from time to time, even during the testing stage. Once everything is stable, we'll start with events and the season relatively quickly. Events will always run for a week, a season for several months. But more on that later.
I think I'll do a test event, maybe this week, with real prizes.

Ja krass = vor 7 Tagen schienen 100 Punkte noch als unmachbar. Nun führst Du das Event mit über 800. Was mich freut: auf dem Weg dahin wirst Du manchen Multiplikator-Mechanismus festgestellt haben. Und gerade diese Multiplikatoren finde ich sehr interessant, da sie Strategie mit in das Spiel bringen - das wirst Du ja wahrscheinlich schon gemerkt haben. ;-) Schön, wenn das Spiel nach und nach entdeckt wird!

Ja, die Multiplikatoren habe ich mitbekommen. Aber dafür muss man schon oft spielen, ansonsten ist das zu schnell.
Ich bin jetzt ein paar Tage unterwegs und weiß nicht ob ich zum spielen komme. Das nervt mich schon 🤣 Aber ich versuche mal auf dem Handy.

Danke für Hinweis & Screenshot. Werde ich untersuchen.
Kurz: sollte behoben sein.
Lang: Genau diese Situation kenne ich und ich hatte schon einmal versucht, den Umstand dafür zu finden. Das ließ sich aber nie gezielt reproduzieren. Mir ist klar, was da als Resultat passiert, die Symptome. Aber nicht, was die wahre Ursache. Ich gehe davon aus, dass eine bestimmt Liste, Werte über die Anzahl der aktuell ersichtlichen Pins nicht richtig handhabt und von daher sagt "Schon ausreichend Pins auf dem Feld" behauptet.
Ich habe jetzt mal während jeder schnellen Spawnwelle einen Befehl integriert, der zwangsweise besagte Liste ausleert. Das sollte im regulären Betrieb kein Problem sein, weil ja während der Spawnwellen eh kein Pin auf dem Feld steht (der dann weggelöscht werden würde). Wenn sich also irgendwelche Diskrepanzen aufbauen, dann sollten sie immer wieder bereinigt werden. Sollte der Fehler jetzt noch einmal auftreten, kann ich ziemlich genau bestimmen, wo genau sich die Fehlwerte aufbauen, da ich ja weiß, wann das letzte mal "durchgewischt" wurde.
Vielen Dank nochmals für die Meldung! Die neue Version (0.6.2) ist bereits online. Ein Screenshot ist immer fein. Sollte der Fehler erneut auftreten, was aber glaube ich nicht passieren sollte - oder aber ein anderer Fehler - ich freue mich über dein Feedback!
