[ENG/ESP] Frida and Coki vaccination day
Hello, #hivepet lovers! Today I want to share with you a special story about my beloved pets, Coki and Frida. It's been two months since I last wrote to you, and that's because something important happened to one of them, little Solo. He no longer lives with us; he's now living closer to the sea. His absence left us a little sad, as it's always difficult to accept when a furry companion takes a new direction in life. However, what really matters is that he is healthy and happy, and that gives us peace of mind.
Today I want to tell you about Coki and Frida, who have filled our days with joy and mischief. This week it was time for their routine deworming. With Frida, it's always a challenge, as she's very sensitive when it comes to injections, not to mention pills... She doesn't swallow them easily, so we have to find ways to mask them in something appetizing. But it's not impossible; with patience and love, we manage to make her treatment less stressful for her.
¡Hola, amigos de #hivepet! Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una historia especial sobre mis adoradas mascotas, Coki y Frida. Han pasado dos meses desde que les escribí por última vez, y es porque ocurrió un evento importante con una de ellas, el pequeño Solo. Ya no vive con nosotros, ahora está viviendo más cerca del mar. Su ausencia nos dejó un poco tristes, pues siempre es difícil aceptar cuando un compañero peludo toma un nuevo rumbo en la vida. Sin embargo, lo que realmente importa es que está saludable y feliz, y eso nos da tranquilidad.
Hoy quiero hablarles de Coki y Frida, quienes han llenado nuestros días de alegría y travesuras. Esta semana les tocó su rutina de desparasitación. Con Frida siempre es un desafío, pues es muy sensible cuando hay que inyectarla, y ni hablar de las pastillas… No las traga fácilmente, así que hay que ingeniárselas para enmascararlas en algo apetitoso. Pero no es imposible, con paciencia y cariño logramos que su tratamiento sea menos estresante para ella.
On the other hand, with Coki, the process is completely different. He eats everything in one bite, which makes giving him a pill a piece of cake. However, when it comes to vaccinations, things change, as Coki is not exactly a fan of needles. For that reason, we always choose to take him to the veterinary clinic, where they know how to handle him with the delicacy and professionalism he needs.
After my pets enjoyed their breakfast and played in the yard, we got ready to take Coki to get his vaccine. He got into the car enthusiastically, as if he had no idea what was in store for him. During the trip, he looked at the landscape with great curiosity, enjoying the cool breeze coming in through the window.
Por otro lado, con Coki el proceso es completamente diferente. Él se come todo de un solo bocado, lo que hace que darle una pastilla sea pan comido. Sin embargo, cuando se trata de vacunas la cosa cambia, pues Coki no es precisamente fan de los pinchazos. Por esa razón, siempre optamos por llevarlo a la clínica veterinaria, donde saben manejarlo con la delicadeza y profesionalismo que necesita.
Después de que mis mascotas disfrutaran su desayuno y jugaran en el patio, nos preparamos para llevar a Coki a recibir su vacuna. Él subió al auto con entusiasmo, como si no tuviera idea de lo que le esperaba. Durante el trayecto, observaba el paisaje con gran curiosidad, disfrutando del viento fresco que entraba por la ventana.
Everything seemed like a perfect walk until we started approaching the veterinary hospital in Salamanca. At that moment, Coki began to get anxious and his tail went down, a clear sign of fear. He seemed to have remembered exactly where we were going.
Todo parecía un paseo perfecto hasta que nos empezamos a acercar al hospital veterinario de Salamanca. En ese momento, Coki comenzó a ponerse ansioso y su cola bajó, un claro síntoma de temor. Parecía haber recordado exactamente a dónde nos dirigíamos.
When we arrived, luckily we had an appointment, so we didn't have to wait long. There was only one other dog in the room, but the tension was palpable. Coki was restless, watching every movement suspiciously, although we always tried to calm him down with gentle strokes and soft words. Finally, it was time for the vaccination and, as expected, there was a little struggle, but the veterinarians managed to administer it successfully.
Al llegar, por suerte teníamos una cita programada, así que no hubo mucha espera. Solo había otro perro en la sala, pero la tensión se sentía en el aire. Coki estaba inquieto, observando cada movimiento con sospecha, aunque siempre intentamos tranquilizarlo con caricias y palabras suaves. Finalmente llegó el momento de la vacuna y, como era de esperarse, hubo un pequeño forcejeo, pero los veterinarios lograron aplicarla con éxito.
After the consultation, we headed back home. Coki was much more relaxed and even seemed happy, as if he knew that the worst was over and now all that was left was to enjoy the day.
Terminada la consulta, nos dirigimos de regreso a casa. Coki iba mucho más relajado y parecía hasta contento, como si supiera que había pasado lo peor y que ahora solo quedaba disfrutar el día.
When he arrived, he ran to Frida and they began to play nonstop, filling the house with their contagious energy. After so much rolling around and running, they ended up completely exhausted and fell asleep in their favorite corner.
Al llegar, corrió hacia Frida y comenzaron a jugar sin parar, llenando la casa con su energía contagiosa. Después de tanto revolcarse y correr, terminaron completamente exhaustos y se quedaron dormidos en su rincón favorito.
Whenever I take my pets to get vaccinated, I stay alert in case any side effects occur, but seeing Coki sleeping so peacefully reassured me that there was nothing to worry about. His well-being is the most important thing, and knowing that he is healthy and happy gives me peace of mind.
Siempre que llevo a mis mascotas a vacunar, me mantengo alerta por si ocurre algún efecto secundario, pero ver a Coki dormir tan plácidamente me dio la certeza de que no había nada de qué preocuparme. Su bienestar es lo más importante, y saber que está sano y feliz me llena de tranquilidad.

Que bien hermana , yo cumplo esa rutina de desparasitación con Pupy cada 2 mm eses y medio , es un poco estresante porque el le tiene miedo al veterinario , es solo a su presencia porque cdo lo vacunan ni reacciina jjj . Están muy bien cuidadas tus mascotas . Un abrazo 😘
Hermana @lileisabel, lo que más pesa es el temor que le tienen, porque el pinchazo ni lo sienten.
Coki suele ponerse intenso, gruñón y desafiante, mientras que Frida, en cambio, solo tiembla y, si puede esconderse, no lo duda ni un segundo.
Al menos ya hemos superado este trimestre.
