Kitty Treat Taste Test

I decided to do a little taste test to find out what treats Yuan likes best. I have learned that he can't eat more than a small number of most crunchy style treats without getting some stomach upset, so I try to space those out and only give a few at a time, and mix it up with freeze dried treats and catnip. I actually have two different types of crunchies because I was trying to find one that wouldn't have that issue, but there have been three now that did it, so I think it's just something about crunchies as a category.

So in the treat puzzle we have three slots with freeze dried chicken, one slot with catnip, one with Temptations (those are called Dreamies elsewhere in the world), and one with Viva la Kitty crunchies.

Yuan chose freeze dried chicken first, which is what I thought he'd do! That stuff is kitty crack. But then he ate the Viva la Kitty crunchies next, like he was going in order. Then he ate the second chicken, and he was full and went to go drink water and take a nap. Tummy full of noms! :)

When it was time for more treats later, he went for the catnip first. Then the third chicken slot, and that piece of chicken was so good, he had to go eat it elsewhere, hee hee. Often when Yuan gets a big piece of something yummy, he takes it away and eats it somewhere else and takes his time with it. :)

And then finally, the Temptations (aka Dreamies) were last. Some people might be surprised by that, considering many kitties consider those to be kitty crack, but Yuan prefers the others, it seems!

So Yuan's ranking order is:
-freeze dried chicken
-Viva la Kitty crunchies
-freeze dried chicken
-catnip
-freeze dried chicken
-Temptations

Of course, that's also the order they were in in the slots, but for what it's worth, he DID actually open up the last chicken, ignore it, and then go for the catnip instead. Only after he had eaten the catnip, did he eat the last chicken, so he did know it was there and chose catnip first for that one.

I think since he switched back and forth, he might like them all rather equally. Yuan is a variety cat, so that makes sense. If I feed him the same wet food all the time, he gets bored with it and starts ignoring it, so I always mix it up as much as I can for him.
