Music is sweet, music is fun. It must be harmonious, there must be coordination, and as a universal language, it should be well understood. Over the years, music has undergone a great transformation, some of which are positive while others are negative. Before I proceed to highlight the positive transformations in music and the music industry, let me first point out one negative change I have observed in this digital era.

One of the major negative changes is the lyrics or wordings in music. If we take time to listen to some of the older songs, you will agree with me that their lyrics were more meaningful, soul-touching, and capable of resonating deeply with the listener. Even in terms of appearance, musicians in those days used to dress more decently and presentably, unlike what is commonly seen today. However, let us not dwell too much on the negatives but instead focus on the positive aspects.

From vinyl records and cassette tapes, the digital era has transformed how we access music. Today, music is streamed and easily accessible from any location. Unlike the past, with just a smartphone, you can download any song of your choice from the comfort of your home and enjoy it, without having to visit a shop or market to look for a particular CD or tape.

Now let’s talk about music production. In the past, artists had to spend a lot of money and time in expensive studios just to produce one track. But today, with just a laptop, a good headphone, and some digital software, one can produce quality music from virtually anywhere.

The audio quality of music has also improved significantly. Thanks to digital tools and artificial intelligence, sound engineering in music production is now more refined. Even the quality of music videos has been greatly enhanced in this era.

In conclusion, music in the digital age has experienced a drastic transformation and has brought innovation into the music industry. Artists now have access to tools that make music production easier and more efficient, while listeners can explore and enjoy a universe of music right at their fingertips.
