Afri-tunes Week #164 // Takama Na By Solomon Damulak Covered By mamab

A warm welcome to everyone to my blog today. My name is mamab. This is is Afri-tunes community week #164. Afri-tunes is one community where one is allowed to share and express music in the African style.

On this edition, I went into the archives to pick a Hausa gospel song from Northern Nigeria titled "Takama na" which means my boast. It was composed by Solomon Damulak, a music minister from Plateau State. His songs were very popular in the North about 10 years ago or so. He is talented and has a great voice.

The song Takama na is all about boasting in Jesus. The song writer said he will not boast in money, riches or his intelligence. It is a good point to ponder upon, seeing that in our present world, many things are driving people. When there was no internet, there were a number of things that we didn't hear about. For instance, scamming people of money to become rich. There are people that glorify their cars such that you dare not lean on it. They boast in the number of classic cars they drive.

Coming to the fashion world, beauty is driving ladies crazy. There are different makeup styles, some spend millions on surgery to reshape their bodies to their taste. As good as all the things of the world are, if we don't prioritize the Lord Jesus, we are heading to destruction at the end of life.

We are all encouraged to put God first and boast in Him, He will settle us accordingly.

Alright friends let's clear our voices and sing
