Sometimes I wonder the kind of brain God has ordained some people with because of the high level of creativity I see them display. I want to acknowledge the management crew of this community for their efforts in sustaining the weekly engagement of all sorts to this moment. This effort worth celebrating. For all participants I wish us a great moment.

For this entry, it has to do with popular style of music. As I always say music means different thing to different people. As our faces are different so also other things that constitutes our lives are different. The impact of music in one's life can't be overemphasized.

The popularity of a style of music depends on kind across the globe and there are factors that affects this. Music is a global means of communication which tends to unite people however the styles and genres that are popular with people differs from the region where you are found. I was thinking within my heart whether I should restrict myself to only African pattern of music or should I attempt the global perspective of music? Anyways I would try my best and explore on the most popular music genres that I know.

Pop music has a way it appeals to the ear. It's catchy. Pop music is a genre that can possess some elements from other styles of music like rock, hip-hop, etc but I would like to confine myself to our region of Africa. One of the most popular or common style of music is Afro beats. This genre combines traditional West African rhythm with modern style like soul, R&B, hip hop and traditional music. You would notice that most of the artists now produces music based on this style. With the emergence of top stars like Davido,Wizkid and many others they tend to make this style very popular and of great standards. Many other nations are gradually tilting towards this pattern of music presently.

It seems the popularity of any music is dependent on the trending performing artist. When he or she has good fan base, there is motivation to ensure that the styles or patterns of the music scale through. This is to say that the more popular the artist is the more pattern of music is acknowledged by all.

Music keeps changing and new other genre are coming up. I meant to say music is dynamic and trend can easily change. With the technological advancement, it's worthy of note how music genres develops and spread. Music has a bright future with endless possibilities which one could leverage. There are certain styles of music that personally I don't know the name given to it but I enjoyed all hit of the songs. These are all products of technological advancement.

For us in Nigeria, I find it difficult to boldly say this is most popular music style but I think we should learn to respect each other's opinion when it comes to this matter.For me I made the choice that the popular style of music is Afro beats. This combo brings out our cultural heritage blending with the modern style of music. Thanks for reading through my entry for this edition week 51.
