Hello great people of the Afri-tunes community. It’s your boy @akwash360. I’m excited to be part of this week’s edition, Week 182. For my rendition, I chose to do a cover of the song “Jesu My Love”, originally sung by Lawrence Uyor, one of my favorite gospel ministers from Nigeria. His songs have blessed me greatly over the years, and this particular one is no exception. Personally, I believe he is a blessing to this generation, and I’m glad to be alive in his time.

One thing I truly love about his music is that it is spirit-filled, meaningful, and deeply inspirational. The way he uniquely delivers his songs makes his ministrations stand out, especially when he begins to chant. It gives his music a distinct flavor that is powerful and worth listening to. This particular song beautifully proclaims the love of God and how we, in turn, can express our love to him. According to the songwriter, his desire is to love God and do things that will make God smile and be proud of him. That message resonates deeply because anyone who can bring joy to God’s heart has truly won His favor.

I also admire how calm and soothing the music sounds. The blend of his voice with the instruments creates a pleasant harmony. Beyond his vocal gift, he is blessed with a committed and talented team, both the backup singers and instrumentalists give their best, making the overall delivery outstanding.

I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the original song, and that’s why I chose to do this cover. I pray and hope it blesses you as much as the original song has blessed me.
