A Noob's Adventure!!
Well Hello There Fellow Hivers!
I have to day doing some digging in folders that are long forgotten can bring the cringe out of things. I came down a folder of photos I took even before Covid-19 struck the world, yeah quite some time ago and in this folder I uncovered photos I took at the very start of my realization that I do in-fact like photography.
Now if you told me back then that I would still be taking photos to this day about anything that attracts my attention (BTW Hive kind of pushed it along even more.) I would tell you nah, it can't be I'm not that type of person. Usually I like getting onto something and when I've learned all there is I'm out. But photography is a constant changer, there is always a better picture to be taken and more than often I surprise myself with what I capture.
This is rarely anything spectacular at all but it did drag me back a few years giving me a nostalgia feeling and besides this is where it all started for me.
Okay yeah I've taken quite a few photos with a proper camera in my life, but the very first time I was shocked. I absolutely couldn't believe that they came out so beautifull, it almost felt like the photos gave me a clearer image of life than what my eyes did. This is of-course non-sense but it felt amazing! To say the least.
Who would have thought taking a photo of some rusted up and forgotten piece of farm equipment would ever be beautifull. Certainly not me!
That's where I decided to take a photo of everything that attracted my attention by the slightest bit, even though it seemed stupid. I have to add I can see that I have come a long way, I'm not the best not by a long shot! There are so many out there who remain unseen but I've never given up and nor should they and besides it's not really about giving up it is more of a enjoy what you're doing type of thing and in that naturality you will grow.
Looking at this I can see a thousand things I would have done better.
I mean take a look at this... It's just filth... Something that people pull out and chuck away, myself included. Not before I can take a photo of it though, I am quite fond of this one, it's hardly colourfull or beautifull in any manner but it does have a way of making me stare at it for longer than I usually would if it was next to me in a garden...
We wont know how beautifull a photo can turn out to be if we don't take a snap of it, get in there you might surprise yourself!
A little back story to this type of garden bench, now I can't speak for much of the outside world at all but in South Africa this is the classic bench you would have seen when visiting your granny that lives out of your town or on a farm somewhere.
I mean we still have one at it was always on my Great Granny's porch many years back, now it's on our porch. It has also faded away much like this one it has a few repairs spots as-well. It has been redone quite a few times now and there is one or two broken spots on it. The idea with the wire might not be the best when seating on it but it certainly gives off that old classic and authentic feeling to it!
Now I don't know much about what you might think but this is certainly the best example of how you can take photos of anything and everything!
I mean come on... A stump, a dead stump... There really isn't anything fancy about it at all and you'd step over it or even drag it to the fire place to light it up for the night but how is that for some colour vibrancy?
A tweak here and a tweak there and a photo just gets lit up like never before, oh and yes all of these photos are fiddled with a little just to make the colour more coloury if I can say that!
It does look fine though doesn't it?
Well let's round this one off nicely and with something that is actually alive. Now getting those perfect photos of animals, well that is something I have not yet quite mastered. Not at all to be honest.
Thinking about it now I think I might challenge myself a little more. To get off the landscaping and onto the wildlife part of photography I think the problem is that it does require a GREAT deal more patience. You've got to sit there and wait it out and wait it out and if you miss it.. well you've missed it!

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoI love rust and if you didn't know, there's such thing as rust art as well. I know you're working with cars and body parts, maybe there's rust around you. So please feel free to take photos as rust can be beautiful :)
Nice to see you in Photography Lovers by the way :)
Haha there is, a lot of it... But in the workshop it might not be the right setting or I've just not unlocked that skillet yet.... I saw a few photos from @tarazkp the other day of which he took in his garden... Unbelievable, to say the least. I'm going to try and get some close ups like he did but it never comes out as great. 😅😅
It has been quite some time since I posted in Photography Lovers I should make use of it like my Political Monday Rants

Lol, your political rant 🤣 I've read one of your recent posts and wanted to comment but I thought better not as you were angry 😂. Unfortunately there are so many things wrong in SA on so many levels ...
The image of the gears is great, it has good photographs.
I remember that some time ago, colored filters were used on analog camera lenses to give effects to images, and you only saw the result when you developed the photos.
Now it has improved a lot and is somewhat more versatile, when you want to edit a photo.
