The Old Fort

The Old Fort

Good Morning
NO real update on my health today which is good things seem to be going OK at the moment, the cramps have gone and I can go back onto a pureed diet today
funny thought i had this morning for months i was focused so hard loosing weight, getting steps in and eating healthy , finally got to the stage where the Dr said that was enough try to stay at that weight which was 166lbs, but this past week or two I have lost another 12 lbs

Now there is a bit of debate in the city of the name of the Fort and hence i played it safe in the title and said the Old Fort, looking on online maps the Fort is Called Fort Rodman, and the park is Fort Taber National Park, but there are some mainly the older generation, dang did I say that I am talking about people my age and older who are adamant the Fort is called Fort Taber and the park is Fort Rodman, but i go with what the maps show me :)

The fort which was also known as the old Stone Fort, and the Fort at Clarks Point until 1898, construction of the Fort started in 1857.
As built is had 72 cannons in three tiers, they had originally planned a fourth tier, but that was dropped to speed up the completion time for the fort

The fort is closed off and not safe and hence never opened to the public, I would love to see it restored but I have not heard of any plans to do that

These shots are from a few visits to the park, most times I visit there I do at least one lap on the path that goes around the fort and the edge of the park by the water

I know it looks quite bright in the first shot, but if you look at the exposure length it was 99 Seconds, so it was actually quite dark

THis is from the opposite side of the fort

This is at a point about midway between the first two shots I shared

I do love having the old fort as a background when I try light painting so will slip in one light painting shot

and a last shot to finish off the post

And that’s all folks

Good morning, dear friend @tattoodjay

It's so good to know that everything is fine, and that you've reached your ideal weight. Now it's time to maintain it.

What a beautiful fortress! I love its stone architecture.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Such a beautiful old structure, a real shame they don't fix it up as I've mentioned before. Great pictures you captured, and I loved the light painting you threw in there as well. Gorgeous!

Glad to hear you're back to the puree diet at least, but not to hear you're losing weight as an unintentional side effect. Hopefully today goes well and tomorrow even better. Just be careful and take it easy, I hope you'll be back to your old routine in no time!

Hello!
I loved the subtlety and contrast achieved in each photo, with the sobriety of that fortress and the sky, with its magnificent colors!
