The colors will intensify when spring season arrives.
But for now, let's see what I could get on camera.
The little green dots on the hills are all young olive trees. Some of our olive oils have received international awards for quality, and there are a few olive farms in our area. Now don't get me wrong and start to plant your own olive trees, as it is all a very intensive procedure, and olive trees require special agricultural soils.
Another fact is that there are many olive tree varieties, and one has to prepare the soil for the specific trees that one will plant. I have to say that cold pressed extra-virgin olive oil has a few health benefits, but I am not an expert, and I only mention of what I was told and read. Apparently, they contain antioxidants, healthy fats, vitamins and it reduces inflammation. I am sure that there are more health benefits.
I will take you along the hills to the mountains. So, come and walk with me.
Two shots below of a land that will eventually be covered in olive trees.
This is where the hills meet with the mountains.
Look here! We nearly stumbled over these Arum lilies in a small stream on our walk, and isn't it a lovely sight?
Right, and here below are the mountains.
Look how a drop of sunshine falls upon that top peak of the first valley at the back of the valley.

And so, maybe one day, I will qualify as a nature tour guide, as there is so much to see and to share with others over here. Mountains, farms, nature reserves, botanical gardens, mountain passes, rivers, dams, and even coastal tours next to the Atlantic Ocean. I could even show you the extreme southern tip of the Western Cape where the two Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet.
Then there are all the penguin colonies, whales, seals, bird sanctuaries, animal rehabilitation centers, aquariums, hiking trails, historical sites, and so much else. You will find the people very friendly here, and the old farmers all welcome visitors. Some of them have restaurants with great food, good wines, and various activities for visitors.
Such is life here.

So Beautiful and I leant something new today I didnt know they made olive oil there
Glad to introduce you to the olive farms over here. An Italian gent Fernando Costa started the olive farming here in 1903, and that was the start of all the olive farms over here.

STOPI read about the "spring season" and it made me a bit uncertain. But then I realized: South Africa! 😁 While we're heading towards autumn here, you're welcoming spring. Is that right?
I recently read that olive trees are now being planted in my country (Czechia), thanks to climate change.
Still one week of winter, as our spring season starts on the 1st of September.
Good news and let's hope that the olive trees will survive, as they are very sensitive to weather changes.
