Pond life to settle our nerves.

Spend a moment and allow your mind to be loaded with some serenity.

Whenever we are troubled, this pond is the place for our meditations.

So strange how life works, as it returns unsolved problems many years later to give us another go at it. A friend is locked into a delicate negotiation situation, as he has to fend off a negative effort that could seriously affect his future. So bad that it's now starting to affect his health. We had a similar situation years ago when we started Papillon, and we bear the scars to this day. Did we win? Yes, but like I said it takes it's toll on one's health. I don't want to say too much about it, but it's very difficult to change the minds of determined bullies.

Say Aaah! A view down its throat Lol.

They pop up to surface to suck the plankton into their throats, and the water drains through their gills.

What a great catch for my camera. It is a Navy Dropwing Dragonfly in the sun (Trithemis furva).

Just a view of a lovely water lily below.

And then I tried to show the suction action with two shots of this fish. He came up to the surface.

And then look how the water is sucked into his throat.

Finally, a peaceful scene with this leaf floating on the water.

Water draws adults, children, animals, reptiles, birds, and insects alike, as it is the nectar of life. Even the tiniest baby's eyes will be drawn to the water, and if possible, they will attempt to crawl towards it. There is a big cheetah sculpture near this pond, and it's fun to watch how little dogs run up to bark at it, as the size and shape of the cheetah resemble a big dog, and yet the doggies don't know that they are barking into the wind.

Now, is that the way for us to solve many of our problems? Do we behave like the doggies that bark at the sculpture? We know that a solution will be found in our friend's case and be it what it may he will just have to accept the outcomes. We always take care to listen to both sides of an argument, and yes it is a very delicate situation, but miracles still happen and we will help wherever we can.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Some projects that are very high stress do take a toll on your health, I've been there and done that more than once. I do hope your friend comes through it unscathed. Life always seems to throw us new challenges or even repeats of the old ones at times. No way to avoid them sadly, but at least it keeps life interesting. Sometimes too interesting...

Those are great water shots, of the koi and the fish! I have to say my favorite is that Navy Dropwing Dragonfly. What an incredible shot of a gorgeous creature!

I try not to bark at too many statutes myself, but sometimes I think we all tend to do it. Like you said, such is life! I hope you are having a great weekend!

Yeah, and now with age it seems that my inner drive has become more relaxed, this was after the second burn out that almost killed me. Tired of the challenges that jumps up out of nowhere and my new way is simply to ignore them.

I think that I told you before that you have a good eye, and that Dragonfly was the icing on the cake :) I have more shots of him that I will post sometime.

Barking to the wind is one of my favorite sayings, and you are right, we all do it on an impossible occasion that we try to rectify.
