A time ago, we had severe rainfall...

...and I promised to show you some rain shots.

This was our view as I pulled the car out of the driveway at home and so let's go for a drive.

We love adventures, as it always results in great adrenalin lifts. Not that we are daring, or risky, as we stick to the speed limits, and it would be suicide to follow a car ahead of us too closely. The music of the rain's drumming sounds on our car's roof is great to listen to, and the purring of the car's motor threatens my wife with sleep Lol. A heavy consistent downpour, and I knew that it would not last. So, one hour later it was all over.

This sun halo that we saw about 3 days before was a warning of impending rain.

Things started changing rapidly, as we stopped at a red traffic light.

Now look at how the rain came pelting down as we turned onto this road.

Back home I heard the sound of the plane that you see below.

And as I took some shots of the plane, I also noticed the moon behind a curtain.

Things started to clear gradually, and the clouds were moving away inland.

And then it was all over, as if nothing happened.

I owe the weatherman an apology, as in the old days many people would joke when the weatherman got things wrong, but in these modern times they have satellites and new technology that results in very accurate weather forecasts. Of course, at times, things can go wrong with unexpected freak wind changes, and other changes as lately we have some really weird weather over here. But, barring this, the weather alerts that they publish in the social media are at most times spot on.

This was one of those flash storms that occur regularly, and another strange thing that we have noticed is that there are no lightning flashes or thunder sounds in this area. We used to live far up north in the country, and over there it sounds like bomb crackers when the lightning bolts flashed into the sky. Our little dog used to go hide under our bed, but over here everything is almost totally silent. Depending on the time that these flash storms last, the longer the time the more water comes down, and in some cases, it can fill an empty dam in a matter of an hour or two which is always a good thing, as we live in a water scarce country.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

It is impressive how you have captured the blessing of the rain. These photographs are almost an act of gratitude for all the good that the downpour brings.

Haha, didn't think the jokes on weathermen are global. But yes, nowadays, thanks to technology, they provide more precise data. We had a series of cyclones, but thanks to them, we were warned way before the calamity, which helped us a lot. Thanks for sharing the photos, I felt like I am also in that car enjoying the rain.

Oh yes, and the jokes originated many years ago, as they did not have the modern tech that we have now. Glad that you guys were prepared for the cyclones due to the weathermen warnings. I hope that not too much damage was done, and that no lives were lost.
It was a pleasure to have you along for the drive. !LOL

These are all beautiful pictures taken with great detailing also. The blessings of the rain is always a thing to welcome especially since it has been scarce around here for awhile

It’s amazing how even a simple drive can turn into an adventure when nature puts on a show. That sun halo is such a magical sight.😧
