A fire at the left...

...and the next day, a fire at the right.

Summer season is fire season over here, especially when most of the flora is dry, and our fire teams are active all over the show. Always an unsettling scene, as I can hear how the billowing clouds upset my peace and serenity. Further inland there are also wildfires that burn thousands of acres of lands, and it is very difficult to reach the flames in the high valleys of the mountains. The strong wind is also not helping, as it can change direction in an instant, and then sparks light up in the new directions, which makes things more difficult.

It seems that the fires are taking place at a more fervent pace, due mainly to the foreign trees as well the high rainfall two winters ago that resulted in very dense growth of the plants, grass, and all other foliage. But not only here, as we saw on the internet that there are many other countries that are also being savaged by fires. Nature seems to have it in for mankind, and it is such a pity that so many smaller wildlife is being killed by the fires.
Come and have a look.

I tried to see the source of the fire, but it was hidden behind some buildings.

Finally, you can hear the noise of the clouds as it spreads over the seafront.

And here is the second day's fire below.

This was our signal of a fire at home from our front garden.

And so, we popped up to the high spot to see what was going on.

I focused on the horizon to see the source, but it was very far away.

In the meantime, that yellow cloud covered everything below.

Ever seen a yellow ocean?

The smoke cloud blanketed the sun, and the air started to smell of smoke from the fire. The good news is that both of these fires were doused within hours, but we heard that this second fire destroyed almost an entire township. So many people lost their homes, and they were placed in temporary shelters. Now the rebuilding of their lives will start, and it is always a big problem especially for those who have lost everything. Imagine living with no ID books, no bank cards, and nil of all possessions.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
