Walk with me through stunning STAMFORD in the UK 🇬🇧 ~ WednesdayWalk

Hi all 👋🏻😊

Join me today as we walk through a very cute market town with the name of STAMFORD in the UK 🇬🇧
We will see some old buildings that are very characteristic and could appear in many romantic movies and be written about in novels 😊
On my short trip end of July to return the car to Ireland, I visited Stamford for the afternoon.
I have showed you before this town so it could look familiar….. today it was sunny ☀️ and I show you new areas.

With this post I’m joining in at the Wednesday Walk challenge and Make me Smile challenge. That are hosted by @tattoodjay and @elizacheng every week on Wednesday.

‼️Have a look: Here in the Wednesday Walk Community if you want to join in!… the community is run by @tattoodjay.
Look at his last #Wednesdaywalk post.
It will tell you also the rules of joining at the Wednesday walk posts 😁 come join us! It is fun!

Today’s selection will be of 16 PHOTOGRAPHS
Date: 29 July 2024.
The Photographs in this post are all taken with my phone 📱🤓
I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my #adventures on this #walk, to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.

Location of Stamford we find on the following screenshot of google maps:

Zooming in a bit closer:

And the town of Stamford:

Let’s start our walk in the sun ☀️

Wandering the street in the centre, do look up as you can discover a lot of details and beautiful old facades.
This is above the bookstore 📚

I turned a side road and wandered further…

All the houses are so cute.

Not many people out and about today in the streets I wander through, just the way I like it 😊

Wandering further I take this capture back as we walked past these houses.

Next to the large church I found this small workshop. It was closed but looked interesting. Next time I go in…

The entrance towards the #church yard. Beautiful #flowers great us 🌺🌺🌺

A bit further I see this old church bell 🔔 on the side of the road.

Very interesting. It looks like it is to protect the wall from cars… no idea why it would be there otherwise?

Wandering back towards the centre and its shopping streets for a #coffee ☕️☕️ I see these buildings….

Capture further away:

Just stunning… I like towns that have so much character. Do you?

Small little passageway 😎

We walked a while and ended up at the #meadows of #Stamford. A large green area next to the #river. Over the river we find this beautiful #bridge 😊
This is my favourite photo of the day.

Time to head back towards the car…
This old barn that is converted into apartments caught my eye last minute… the church just peeking 🫣 over its roof.

I will visit Stamford again, as it is close to the in-laws. So much still to discover. I do know… I like this cute little market town.

…and here I say that’s all for today’s post my friends.
Join me next time for more #updates, #adventures, #stories and #photographs 😎👋🏻
Even my own #artworks, once in a while, will come by” 🎨
Thank you so much for looking, and reading.

looks like a lovely, well maintained market town. I bet it's expensive to live there! I was just reading that they have a strong network of independent schools there that have been around since 15c. They sure do OLD well there.

It is one of the cutest towns in that area. I like going there and discover new streets when we visit the inlaws, the live not to far away. So a day out is easy when I visit the UK.
It is indeed expensive now, a shame…
They have been around a long time and do old very gracefully. Will share some more from this town. It is worth visiting.

What a quaint quintessential english village, what I like is the independent shops , the bookstore, the dress shop and the vacuum shop, long may they continue. They would get my support

It is truly a cute place. Nothing to much in case of chain stores. They kept the small independent ones going and they are located in cool old buildings with so much character.
Mine too for sure @grindle 😊
Enjoy your day!

Beautiful area. Cool that you got out early. You can really slip back in time when there is no car traffic 🙂 just empty streets and a few pedestrians. That purple stuff by the river is blooming here now. Very pretty even though it is some kind of weed (wannabe wildflower haha) that grows on the edge of swampy areas

Yes, I love when places have areas only people can walk around. No cars…
I like the purple stuff, no idea the name… we have it here too in the far north 😉 and not only in the swampy areas.
Have a great weekend!

Stamford is such a quaint town and so full of character! I love the old buildings, the passageway, and the beautiful bridge. That photo is my favourite as well, it's stunning. As you say, there must be a whole lot more you will discover next time you visit the in-laws!
