“WALK AROUND HISTORIC PORTSMOUTH AND ITS STRAWBERY BANKE MUSEUM” ~ Portsmouth New Hampshire USA 🇺🇸 ~ Wednesday Walk

Hi all 👋🏻

Let’s share some of my adventures in the USA 🇺🇸 during my “vacation to New England” last month with you 😊
Today we visit PORTSMOUTH and its HISTORIC HOUSES and a walk through STRAWBERY BANKE MUSEUM. Located in NEW HAMPSHIRE. 🇺🇸😊

It is right on the border with the State MAINE.

Let’s start our walk now…

First we visit this house:

The sign tells us it is the JACKSON HOUSE and dates back to 1664

It is well preserved / maintained.

It’s location is on the outskirts of the city…

After this we walk back into the centre of PORTSMOUTH 😊
I see this mural that brightens up the facade of this building.
Very cool #streetart work 😎

We see this metal arch in the shopping area. In the distance I notice a theatre or cinema 🎦

We, of course, walk into the street to check it out.
I so love these neon lights… brings back old times long forgotten 😎😁 it is a music hall btw.

We continue our walk and check out the waterfront from Portsmouth 😊

Another old historic building 😊 located in Prescott park.

We wander towards the historic district now, there is also the STRAWBERY BANKE MUSEUM located.
So let’s check out this area 😁

The houses are really well taken care of. Love the red wooden fronts.

This yellow house stands out 😎

On it we find this sign:

Read it carefully hahaha 🤣

What a funny find, don’t you think?

I like this neighbourhood, the buildings are beautiful.

The #church ⛪️

We see here a house that is being painted 🤓 do you see it?

One house older than the other one 🏡

White picket fence…

We reach the MUSEUM now.

Here you can get information and buy tickets to enter. On some days they have workshops and show you how life back in the days would look like. The performers all dressed up in clothes from that era.

Picnic areas too.

We see some people around but not many this day.

We didn’t go into the museum to look around and only crossed the grounds quickly 😃 but you can see some of the houses here.

There are some souvenir shops too.

And this bright yellow house is the last of the historic houses I want to share with you today… on or walk through Portsmouth.

It is a very walkable city and has some cute area to spend some time wandering around. Like we did today 😊
