Historic Aircraft Glimpse | Wigram Airforce Museum

https://youtube.com/shorts/LsPcKnf2qug?si=yAoTSe2t-CkoN7H6

I have been put off from sharing these photos of my visit to Wigram Airforce Museum because I mistakenly had my camera settings on motion photos, and all the photos I captured were motion photos. How annoying is that!

My colleague and I had attended mass on that beautiful Sunday morning of April this year, after mass I suggested we visit the museum which is right on the same street I live and I had never gone in there 🙈. Now, as much I enjoy exploring places, I get drawn to places of nature more than other man made stuff. That explains why the museum is right on the same street with me, and I hadn't been there until April with my friend.

I was surprised at how big the museum is with a lot of aircraft. The entrance is free, but to get a tour guide, we paid a fee, which I can't recall the amount, but it was just a small fee.

The Aircraft Hall was an airplane hanger during World War II. It is now a hall with theatrical lighting with collections of classic aircraft.

To some older generation or those clued up with aircraft might find these photos or a visit to Wigram Airforce Museum a lot richer than me.

I took so many silly motion photos. These are the first of the second I intend to share.

Still cool to visit and see those old machines.
Haha funny you took motion photos. Maybe worth checking; on my phone when I take motion photos you can go to edit and there you can select a main image and change it to photo without motion.
Have a great evening.

I got yesterday some bad news from the garage the van is in. While repairing the seal between engine and gearbox they found the flywheel was loose (broken) from its rubber/ fitting. So it needs a new one. They couldn’t find a replacement yet and the car is still there. But the parts required could go between €1k to €3k euros 😱 that will hurt us badly and goes into our moving budget… so the van is at the garage still, because they said closing it back up is again too much work so they wait for parts and finish later… no idea when. No idea what to do at this point… let’s hope they find the parts for less money. This is something you can’t notice while looking for a second hand car before buying it. The last owner must have known something was wrong and we only noticed on our way north.
Sigh… life

I went to edit after I realized the annoying motion photos but couldn't find the option to change it. Now that you mentioned it, I had a look again and found the option to change it is actually above the photo and I did change it 😀. Am getting old Jackie!

Oh no, am so sorry about that. So unfair from the last owner not to warn you about it. This is what we get from us humans, too bad.
That's a lot of money, hopefully they find the parts for a cheaper price.
Have a good day Jackie

History in aviation is one place enjoyed, something we did a couple of times at the Durban Air force base in the 1990s. Visited Johannesburg at the zoo earlier years, learn something different on each visit.

Well maintained a pleasure to see along with the larger passenger carriers we recognize from flying across the skies years ago.

The museum is very well maintained, previously entrance was generally free but a little fee is now being charged to help with maintenance of the places.

I don't know much about aviation history but seeing this old aircraft was an interesting experience.
