Sometimes the fog, like today for example, plays tricks on me. It seems like it won't come, but then it does. And so I pick up my camera, thinking I'm going to photograph one thing, and end up photographing something completely different...

Algunas veces la niebla, como hoy por ejemplo, juega a engañarme. Parece que no vendrá, pero entonces sí viene. Y así yo tomo mi cámara y creo ir a fotografiar una cosa y termino fotografiando otra muy distinta...

Today, when I looked at the streets, I thought, "Surely it (the fog) will go away," and I walked west, toward the country roads, toward the pastures... But no, the fog didn't go away; instead, it moved away a little, revealing a few rays of sunlight that silhouetted the bare branches of the trees. But then it returned, denser, quieter, whiter, and more majestic than before...

Hoy, cuando miré las calles, pensé "seguramente ella (la niebla) se irá" y caminé hacia al Oeste, hacia los caminos rurales, hacia los pastizales... Pero no, la niebla no se fue; sino que se que se alejó un poco hasta dejar ver algunos rayos solares que dibujaron las ramas desnudas de los árboles a contraluz. Pero entonces volvió, más densa, más silenciosa, más blanca y majestuosa que antes...

And I, almost impassive, already accustomed to the capricious games of the morning fog, simply stopped and watched... Even there, far from the village streets, the fog played at retreating again, only to blanket the entire landscape once more a few minutes later... That's just how it is; I've known it since I was a child, and it's always done that. It seems to enjoy playing games, and just when you want it to stay, it leaves and doesn't return until the next morning...

Y yo, casi que impasible, acostumbrado a los juegos caprichosos de la niebla matutina, simplemente me detuve y miré... Incluso allí, ya lejos de las calles del pueblo, la niebla jugó nuevamente a retirarse, tan solo para volver a cubrir todo el paisaje nuevamente pocos minutos después... Ella es así, la conozco desde que soy un niño y siempre ella ha hecho eso. Parece que le gusta jugar, y cuando uno quiere que se quede, entonces se marcha y no vuelve hasta la mañana siguiente...

And look at these photos, they are the roads, they are the pastures, they are the old gateways, they are the foothills of the mountains, they are some hills, they are even some small forests... All of them, like me, deceived by the games of the capricious fog...

Y miren estas fotos, son los caminos, son los pastizales, son los viejos portales, son las faldas de de las montañas, son alguna colina, son incluso algunos pequeños bosques... Todos ellos, al igual que yo, engañados por los juegos de la niebla caprichosa...
