Freshness after Early Morning Rain
We recently went for a walk just after we had some early morning rain.
We were on our way to the Drummond and Monteseel areas in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, west of Durban, on the East Coast of South Africa. But on our way, we passed by the Gillits Nursery and Garden Center, and in the spur of the moment, we decided to make a pit stop there.
We were greeted friendly by the nursery's staff and they asked if we needed any assistance, to which we answered: "No thank you". We did ask if they would mind if I took some photos while we just walked through the nursery and they didn't have a problem with it.
One of the first plants that caught my attention, was the Proteas. This particular Protea was beautiful with its bright colors. It is not so obvious in this photo, but if you watch closely, you can still see the wetness from the rain...especially on those tiny little green leaves visible to the right in the photo.
Here is another unique and beautiful plant, also belonging to the Protea family.
Even though I love nature and I love good-looking plants, I am by far no expert on these plants or their names.
After saying that we wouldn't need any assistance, I also didn't want to bother the sales staff by drawing them away from other potential customers who might be willing to buy some plants.
I did a little search online though, and found these two posts, "South Africa’s Proteas: Identifying Every Type, Including SA’s National Flower, the King Protea" and "10 Types of Protea Flowers & All 99 Protea Species", where you can read more about the various types of Proteas and see photos of them.
Let's appreciate more colors on our walk through the nursery.
I zoomed in a bit to capture more detail.

Let's start looking at the freshness after the early morning rain...

Everything felt clean and fresh after the rain.

Soft colors, surrounded by bright (wet) green...

And to end this post with my last photo, these little drops on this plant looked like tiny little crystals to me.

And that's all for today, folks.
Thank you for reading my post! I do appreciate it!
The first flower is very beautiful. And the water droplets in the last photo are very picturesque.
Thank you for your feedback, @tunikatu! I do appreciate it! Have a great day!
Pincushion Protea, Leucospermum also defined as Fynbos some of my favourite plants to see when out, lovely flower photography after most welcome rain fall.

Driving the Cape roads years ago there were so many along the way, delightful to witness in natural habitat. In the Drakensberg finding them on trail hikes always exciting!
Wow! That sounds beautiful👍!!
Awesome, simply amazing! Have a great week.
