Nature And Still Life

Today I'd like to show you more of the paintings I saw at the beginning of the week, when I visited an amateur art exhibition. There was one artist exhibiting, so you may or many not see some similarities in style. I didn't, to be honest, but my eye is not a trained one. Artists tend to see things differently.

Rebirth

The more I look at this painting, the more I like it. I did not think much of it at the exhibition, but at a closer look, maybe I see more than the artist intended to show. Or who knows. What you see in this painting is the trunk of an old tree, cracked as well. If you look at the piece on the right side of the painting, maybe you see what I see. An evening dress, a mermaid shape evening dress to be precise :)

Wild Flowers

When we were kids, we used to go to my grandmother's and collect wild flowers at the meadow, behind the property. Those wild flowers looked great tied in a nice bouquet. Unfortunately those times are long gone as every piece of land is now private property and mostly used as pasture or for gardening. So wild flowers are hard to find these days, unless you know where to look for them.

Sunset

To be honest, I would have never guessed this painting is about sunset, this is why I am glad there was a title attached to each artwork. It helps the clueless, like me :)

Still Life With Flowers

Still life had its own era I suppose, but its time is not over yet. I'm not a terribly huge fan of it, especially when it comes to flowers, but I liked this one, for some reason. The colors are not my favorite, but in this case I like this dark pinkish, or light purplish?

Winter Sunset

And here we are! This was the painting I loved. I can say it was love at first sight and trust me, it doesn't happen often for me to say that. So far I think there were just a few paintings I said I would buy. I love the colors and that the painting looks more like abstract.

This is still available and I thing I could get it for around $90. The question is, does it worth it for me?

Wild Flowers

Most likely I'm changing as I'm starting to like what I did not like till now. Look at the background of the painting, look at the texture and the brush directions. I love it and again, that light purple or pinkish, with the blue-withe flower at the top, what a nice combination. Maybe I would have chosen some other colors for the rest of the flowers, but as I'm not the painter ...

Monochromy

Speaking of similarities, here's another still life and as you can see, the vase is on the same side as the previous and the other objects on the table are kind of in the same place as the apple in the previous painting. These are details maybe you don't notice at the exhibition as you see so many artworks, but you have more time at home to look at the details.

So looking back, I think I could pick at least 3 paintings from this exhibition. Two from here and one that I showed you in this post.

Pues creo que tenemos gustos parecidos porque esa fue la que más me gustó. Y de Renacimiento, no son las líneas lo que me llama la atención sino la paleta de colores ;)

I think we have similar tastes because that was the one I liked the most. And from the Renaissance, it's not the lines that catch my attention but the color palette ;)

Art is a language in which artists express themselves through form, texture, and line. As a viewer, the way you establish a connection with the art.It reflects the authenticity of both the artwork and the artist.

The question is, does it worth it for me?

"As an artist, I was thinking about this question. However, I found the answer in your writing. The answer is happiness and it's priceless.

You're right. people usually buy artworks for two reasons. One is to store value and maybe make a profit later. I'm not one of them at this point, so if I buy one, it would be to make me happy when I look at it and to decorate my room.

That sunset at first glance without knowing the title, I can't think it is sunset. I can imagine the red sea being divided into two, hehehe. Or maybe a road between walls.

I like that three being cracked and something new get out. I can also find a tail but not of a mermaid but of a big fish opening it's mouth😊
