I used a combination of my two favorite colors (blue and green) to add some dope lighting to these self portrait photographs

When I have lights and a camera, there will be action. I took several new photos the other night when I was bored around my apartment. I wanted these to be colorful and have a cool neon vibe to them. I think I nailed the vision because just look at these.

I used two different colors of lights for a nice effect. Blue and green are my favorite colors and they just happen to go really well together. I aimed them behind me from two different angles so that my face wasn't entirely washed out by the color. There is still some light hitting my skin, but I think it adds a pretty cool effect to these images.

I'm still constantly amazed by just how powerful the iPhone 14 Pro's camera is. As long as I set up the framing of the photo well and have good lighting, the portrait mode photos turn out perfect nearly every time. It's amazing what we can do with our devices now it used to be totally impossible back in the day.

Then there is the fact that I can easily transfer my files from my iPhone to my iMac in seconds using the Airdrop feature. If you are fully invested in the Apple ecosystem like I am, then life is pretty convenient thanks to how well all of their devices work together.

I don't want to just keep rambling about some silly photos I took when I was bored, but wanted to give a brief explanation about my process at least.

I hope you enjoy and feel free to let me know which photograph is your favorite of the bunch.

Much love to you. I've recorded some videos using these lights and it turned out pretty well.

You nailed the neon feel. It’s really amazing to see how much can be achieved with these little devices in our pockets.

I’m a fan of the iPhones for their great camera features and even for making amazing 4k videos. I wasn’t a fan of the iPhones series before, but recently, after getting the old one(iPhone 6splus) when my Android phone was stolen, it was at that point I saw how they are much more functional and that they are worth every hype that comes their way. Can't imagine how much I will be able to get done when I finally have a beast like the iPhone 14pro.

Great shots

Ever since they introduced Pro iPhones, they've become a lot more desirable. Hopefully one day you too will have one so you can explore portrait and cinematic modes.

I think you would seem more younger with no beard 😄

Without a beard I instantly look like I'm 20 instead of 30.

I like the lighting! It’s set up just how I like it too, not too much and not too harsh. Just right.

That’s why I made the switch to apple a few years back. One of the reasons is its convenience. You could just transfer in just few seconds between devices, and the quality remains.

I'm still working on finding out the best way to do lights. It's mostly just been a ton of experimentation.

You know how great it is to have all apple devices. Nothing compared to the convenience of it all working cohesively.

It’s Apple’s way of making us stay in their ecosystem 😆

I always surprised to see when I found Peoples that shows interest in clicking photos, because I itself not interested in clicking photos. Especially when I am enjoying any gathering and it's so annoying when I have to make some memorable clicks.

Photos in the moment of a gathering are a bit unorthodox, I must agree. Although it is nice to have those photos to look back on many years later.

The Pro cameras are at the top of the pack when it comes to smartphone photography. There are a lot of great cameras out on the market though, so it's hard to say the iPhone is #1 for sure, but it's definitely a powerful device.
