Through the Lens: Exploring the Art of Flower Photography
To most people, taking pictures may be a hobby. But for me, photography is like an escape to the world, and a chance to view things differently – or beautifully. There is something with the great shots we have taken that moves us, making us feel proud of how amazing the capture is.
But honestly speaking, I have not been into photography for months. I don’t know, but it felt like I lost the spark and interest in taking pictures. And here I am, trying to love it again. I started getting back to random flower photography, with added touch of my editing skills.
What’s so special about taking photos of flowers?
That is the question that lingered in me when I started hearing the clicks. Is it their color? Their appearance? Or maybe it is because we wanted to showcase how beautifully-made they are. From their unique petals, up to their bright colors. Flowers are one of the best models for photography, indeed.
I took some time walking around my Mama’s home garden, and I saw from of her flowers blooming. But one captured my attention. I don’t know the name of this. It is just a small flower, in red-orange color – its vibrant color stands out.
Then, I started walking outside home. Just a few walks away from our house is a river. And there, I saw some flowers again. They are not the usual ones we see outside, or in the streets, as they live in watery areas. Since I am holding my camera, I did not hesitate to capture them. Despite the watery and muddy surroundings, I still managed to take the best shots.
And just a few meters away, water lilies are standing out confidently. I walked towards it, but not too close since it’s in the water. I extended my arm to capture its best angle, and I think I got it. It is purple flower, growing in the river, and there are hundreds of them.
As soon as I got home and started editing the photos I captured, I came up with a realization that flower photography gives a positive vibe. I saw myself smiling because of amusement on the beautiful flowers I captured. I will definitely do it again.
