Back to basics is the only way to deal with inexplicable anxieties

At times it's necessary to switch to SLOW LIVING..

In continuous search of happiness and inner peace, I am trying to shift my focus to basic things that we enjoyed a lot in our childhood. And the key findings is to switch to slow living at times, just have few simple things to do and enjoy them - that is how it used to be back then. Instead of struggling with inexplicable anxieties, we only have to convince ourselves to be happy with simple joys of life and stick to that, the problem lies within. And coming to my native and staying with parents helps that a lot serving both the purpose - seeing them happy and at the same time enjoying some delicious authentic food from Mom's hand and chilling out with friends.

The Mango season is over, but Mom has done a nice use of the Mango plant, she put a Pumpkin plant in the ground, showing it the way to grow on the Mango plant - what a novice thought.

So after playing football in the morning my next job is to get these Pumpkin flowers from both the roof and it's fun and fulfilling when you procure something from your own garden.

We get this much almost everyday - fresh and fully organic.

And every bite of these fritters prepared by Mom reminds me to all the good, organic and delicious food she has fed us with bare necessity - I think, that won't exist any more. Simple food was the choice by necessity back then, because of affordability, but that was a big blessings for health. It's more important if we enjoy the food or not - that's the reason I recommend my kids to not watch TV or mobile while eating anything - just enjoy the food with joy.

After a long time I went to the vegetable market that has been recently established - the administration has done a good job of moving them all from road side to one place. Interestingly, the price is almost half of what we get in the city and it declines as the day progresses - some of these people are direct farmers, who want to sell everything before leaving. So if you go late evening, then it's quite possible that they will give you at throwaway price or even some freebies.

Of course you get fresh ones in morning with a little higher price, but still that is cheap compared to city. And then the way they put up in display is quite impressive.

As I plan to go back today, Mom was behind me to make things ready before hand - so husked around twenty three coconuts that will serve our need for almost a month. Mom won't change and deeply visualizing that gives so much joy....

Listen, you have to fix the CCTV before going - at this age, hearing that is a whole different feeling - we are always a child for her....

It's more important if we enjoy the food or not - that's the reason I recommend my kids to not watch TV or mobile while eating anything - just enjoy the food with joy.

It is important to accustom children to this right from the start. When we eat while looking at our mobile phones or television screens, our attention is completely diverted from eating. Then we lose track of the taste of the food and what we are eating. In my opinion, to enjoy food deliciously, we should eat it freely.

Coming to my home country and staying with my parents helps me a lot, fulfilling both goals: seeing them happy and, at the same time, enjoying delicious authentic food with my mom and relaxing with friends.

Simple often is best.
Whenever I am in the countryside I will purchase from the farmers. It is cheaper than in town and they get more as they are not getting browbeaten into giving cheap prices to the supermarket. Glad you fixed mum's CCTV!

Going back to basics is great, it clears your mind and allows you to reset. I love farmers markets, though the one you have in India looks much better than what we have in Seattle.

Yes, in fact, there are less vendors because of continuous heavy raining, but otherwise, we get a lot of choice. The price drop is like 70-80% towards the end of the day..

Exactly....at times we need to look at birds and other creatures, how happy they are even without material belongingness. We are happy from the get-go. Contentment is true happiness; artificial belongings are an artificial luxury.

Food culture is increasingly becoming synthetic and expensive, and conspicuous. We need to revisit our traditions and claim those traditional food styles strongly affiliated with organic and natural things, and yet very delicious and healthy.

That has always been the case everywhere. Interestingly, you also get better and organic veggies as compared to what you get in the city.

i so agree, eating in silence is so important, we have only few meals a day
and it doesnt last long, so blessing that moment is key to our health.
people who do other things while eating actually get fat, because the brain doesnt connect with guts.
