The Minimalist Mindset

✨"Minimalism stretches way beyond possessions, beyond things. The real freedom comes when you can make space in your mind. When you have more time to do the things that you love, when you live a fuller life, more rounded. You're the one who makes you feel fulfilled, content. Not all the time, of course, we are human after all. But when we choose to really take time to reflect on our lives, sit with ourselves, allow ourselves to grow." @trucklife-family

Diary of Exhaustion

✨"At the market, we are blinded by our bid to find the right pieces. At the market, everything that can be bought with money glares at us, filling us with waves of foreign wants. Surrounded by needs, wants, and simply appealing items, there’s always the need for a pause, the need for a rethink. The need for time that isn’t spent deciding whether items are worth it or not. I simply watched people admire items, haggle prices, and arrange goods. While everyone did what they did, I watched them. At that moment, nothing was expected of me but to be. I didn’t need to do anything but watch. It was refreshing to be honest." @oluchi31

How a Minimalist Mindset Became a Key Part of My Life

✨"I recently let go of (actually, it's not just recently, but it's been going on for some time now): not having to stay up-to-date with gadgets unless there's a need. By urgent, I mean, if the gadget is truly a tool to support our lives or work.
Why is this important to me? I see people's enthusiasm for replacing their gadgets as often as possible to keep up with the latest releases. That's what changed my mindset to let go of the urge to buy gadgets quickly when there's no need for urgency." @titisnariyah

The world is hurt, but we can save it 🌎♻️

✨"It is easy to succumb to despair if we read or listen to news about climate change, terrible droughts, devastating storms, excessive consumerism, deadly pollution, and senseless wars. According to the reports, we seem like monsters that devour everything in their path and threaten to leave nothing alive on Earth. There is no shortage of people who say that we are our own enemy, the reason for the problem, the plague of the world. But I think that rather than throwing in the towel and folding our arms, we can start doing things that make the world sustainable and good." @nancybriti1

The Only Free Day

✨"Going to the stadium to watch a live football match, and guess what — it’s free of charge. I laugh, enjoy the drum sounds of the fans, and delight in the scenes of goal celebrations and even the frustrations. The third is the one that I adore so much, because on some days I feel like not letting any minute of the day walk off just like that. I stay at home, lie in my bed, and stream the match with a bottle of soft drink beside me. I would scream “gooooaaal!” whenever the team I’m supporting scores, as if I’m right there in the football arena or the stadium." @kingsleyy

Being present, Living slowly

✨"On some weekends, I try to stay off my phone and social media for a few hours, though it's mostly not easy because of habit, but I have been facing it. The digital silences give me time to reconnect with myself and with the little things I often overlook.
And sometimes even watching the sunset or folding laundry slowly has been really meaningful to me. So much peace can indeed come from the simplest actions if we're truly present." @madilyn02

The freedom in saying NO

✨"Saying NO can be hard sometimes, especially when the people who request your assistance are family or close friends.
In February this year, at a meeting, I was assigned to make peppered beef. I initially accepted as always, but my child wasn't feeling too well, so I later declined. But the president of the meeting took it that I disrespected her by declining. She even offered to send her helper to assist me in holding my child while I make the pepper meat. I rejected the offer without remorse." @ginika

Now I prefer that the first thing I see when I wake up is more real

✨"At first glance, this doesn't seem like a big deal, because it's something that most people have normalised, but I'm going to tell you what I noticed about myself so you can understand me a little better. I am a very sensitive and anxious person, so it is very easy for me to be affected by things. Therefore, if the first thing I did in the morning was to check the tasks I had been assigned, the news, which is always negative, or simply anything that would steal my attention as soon as I woke up, I was overloading myself even before I really started to exist." @jemima1996

From Burnout to Balance

✨"I drew out a timetable that seemed “favourable” and began learning. A minimum of 10 hours a day to watch the videos, a few hours to practise, while also trying to earn a living. But soon, I realised that I had learned nothing. Why? Because more than watching the videos, I wasn’t assimilating as much because I competed with the world." @storygoddess

Small Step Toward Mindfulness Changed the Way I See Life, and Myself

✨"One evening, I went to this hotel beside my house to charge my phone. The place was quiet and peaceful, as usual, with only a lady and her child swimming. I lay down on one of the lounge chairs and watched them. The breeze was so gentle and blissful that I decided to just listen to it. Then I listened to my own breathing, in and out. I noticed my heartbeat and, for a few seconds, wondered what it must look like inside me. I stayed that way for a long time until someone tapped me and asked if I was sleeping with my eyes open." @phyna

Some additional tips

🔸 The community encourages authors to engage and build rapport with other team members by leaving meaningful comments.

🔸 If possible we recommend that authors try to use original photos taken by you. Photos count toward the possibility of your post being curated.

🔸 Just a reminder that the weekly #KISS Blog Ideas is presented with ideas on topics to write about and to help you to structure your blogs, they are not meant to be questionnaires for you to list information and publish.

🔸 The presentation of your blog goes a long way and sharing aspects of your lives and your personal stories and experiences should be a lot more than a list that can be found in various places over the web.

🔸 You do not need to wait or only blog in response to the prompts provided. You're free to share any aspect of your minimalist lifestyle at any time.
