Goodbye, my beloved jacket. It's time for something new.

✨"I was in no rush, given that I don't currently do as many adventurous things as I used to just a few years ago (something I want to change). But one thing was very clear to me, just a couple of days ago, was that I wanted a colour other than red!
I had been walking through the bush and scared away so many wallabies, and I was convinced it was my bright red jacket.
Low and behold, we walked into an op shop (second hand, recycled goods shop) and much to my surprise, there was a rain jacket..." @consciouscat
My Flaws, Reasons Behind My Growth…

✨"It's left for me to narrow down how I won't be so much affected by the choices I have made. If there are other ways of life that I can adopt that will complement those choices I made, then I think it's best to go for it. I knew living in luxury was out of that choice; a normal lifestyle with some touch of minimalism is still okay to adopt, but living below standard is actually not a choice." @abdul-qudus
Challenges In Maintaining Relationships As A Minimalist

✨"Some non-minimalist people I have come in contact with would ask me, “Who doesn't like to look good?”, “ Who doesn't like fine things?” and so on, and when they see me wearing fine things and looking good, they go on saying, “I thought you said you are a minimalist?”. Sigh.
I have explained not only in words but with actions what minimalism is about. It doesn't mean you lack, deprive yourself of good things or live in poverty." @rukkie
Not stingy, just minimalist

✨"I learnt that people will always mistake my minimalist lifestyle for being stingy, by calling me names like Aka gum or Okirika Queen. But what matters most is how I handle it, especially when their words hurt deeply. Staying calm and taking time to think before explaining my choices. And if it doesn’t work, it’s better to quietly pull away, so no one damages my peace and happiness." @ginika
Is Simplicity A Liability?

✨"I got posted to a different unit, and this new unit turned out to be her unit too. This was where the drama started. For a greater part of my first day in that unit, I tried to keep busy; attending to patients, taking their complaints and escorting them to wherever they needed to be escorted. On many occasions, I caught this lady intensely staring at me like a predator would its prey. This creeped me out, but what was the worst that could happen in a public space?" @wongi
Philosophy of life

✨"When I was a student, I had a classmate who used to call me nicknames whenever she wanted. She called me "Miniature bubblegum" because of my size, "Four eyes" because I wore glasses and even "Witch" because I had very long hair. His creativity in giving me nicknames was endless. At first, this bothered me a lot, but one day my grandmother, to whom I told how mean this companion was to me, gave me a philosophy of life that I still put into practice today." @nancybriti1
A Moment of Perception

✨"A friend of mine visited me at my home for the very first time, and what he saw and noticed kind of made him perceive me in a different light; he thought that my way of life is depriving me of an opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest. He was my colleague and has always been someone who likes to show off, get the latest of almost everything, and the like, and seeing that I'm almost about the same age as him, he expects I should be doing the same, and when I'm not, rather than try to accept it's my kind of person, instead he believes it's a flaw that needs to be corrected." @vickoly
Struggled donation

✨"Twice last year, I made some trips home, and I had promised a boy in our large extended family that I would bring him some clothing. On the first trip, after I had packed my small bags to embark on the journey, I remembered I wanted to pick out some clothes I hadn't been wearing and take them home as I had promised him. But then, a thought knocked the idea off. " @kingsleyy
Money Problems, Mindful Details.

✨"There is one common concern among people. Come down to a third-world country, and that concern is multiplied by ten. That concern is money. Money rules everything, and many times, it also rules our moods. We have many people falling into depression because there’s no money. So focused on what they don’t have, and most times, we worry about money so much that we end up doing questionable things for it." @deraaa
The Mantles of Minimalism: Space, Time, and Peace of Mind

✨"Making sure my space reflects the state of mind I want to be in. When I wake up in the morning, part of my morning routine includes making my bed and arranging my side table. I also open the curtains when I’m ready for the day to start." @zitalove
DARE TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT

✨"A lot of people think they have a good judgment of who we are, but the moment we dare to do things differently, it teaches them that we all are capable of change. Being mindful works side by side with being intentional. We don’t have to stick to the norms when we know the norms have become abnormal. Our opinions will not always be right, no matter how much we think we are good at making decisions. One day it will fail us if we can’t dare to do things differently." @hopestylist
