Adapting to the season
It’s the winter season in my part of the world, which comes with core dryness due to drought and a windy, cold weather due to the harmattan (yes, that’s what we experience here), but currently, the coldness hasn’t arrived. It’s still very hot here, but even at that, adjustments to my way of life have been taking place gradually.

Staying Hydrated:
The weather has been very hot — hotter than it used to be — and this means taking in more water to keep my system hydrated. I have a good habit when it comes to drinking water, but now, there’s an increase, and no lies, there has been an increase in spending on that too because I recently stopped drinking water from the water storage in the compound. I now buy water for drinking. But the sweetest thing is, since my home is close to my office, I pick from the bulk I bought at home to the office instead of spending at two ends.
More Time to Rest:
There’s currently a longer-night and shorter-day experience here, and this gives me more time to rest at night. I love it, honestly. Since I work on my own (not employed), whenever night comes, I close for the day and return home with no pressure at all. I don’t force myself to meet up with stressful targets. Although I get very serious during the short daytime, once it’s nearing 5 p.m., I just know it’s time to return home to rest because by then, the day has already started grooming darkness.
Adopted Face Cap and Change of Cream:

The sun these days is very hot, so I had to adopt the use of a face cap whenever I’m walking under the sun, which I do very often, especially when I’m going to sun clothes, which takes up to 15 minutes at a stretch, and also whenever I’m walking through bushy roads without tree shades to go and buy fuel. The face cap has been helping me a lot to prevent direct hitting of the sun on my head and also to shade my eyes from the sun rays ‘blinding’ me, especially with the fact that I’m light in complexion.

For the cream, I switched to the olive/anointing oil, which doesn’t give me heat but rather keeps my skin moist, instead of the other cream that’s for ‘fancy’, lol.
Well, the cold hasn’t come, so I’m yet to change into thick clothes. I still wear simple clothes.

How do you guys even cope with the hot sun? With my dark skin, I still carry my trusty umbrella everywhere I go these days. Because sometimes it feels like the sun rays want to bite your skin off. So hot!
The face cap definitely comes in handy. These are quite great points. Thanks for sharing, Kingsleyy🙂
