The Commandments.
ALL I NEED IS IN ME
I watched a movie where the man was being brutally tortured. He held information to world class infrastructure that was not only the key to a better and sustainable future but also the key to insurmountable wealth. He was wanted by everyone even the Church.
Watching him get tortured and beaten to release where he hid this gem, the man said something that struck me deep. He said, “You can kill this body because that’s all you know how to do, you fucks! But my spirit can never be broken.”
Mahatma Gandhi said, “You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body, but you will never imprison my mind”. Everything thing I need to live a worthy life is within. Looking outside of me for things that make me happy is robbing myself of peace. The joy I need to live is within me. That alone makes life easier.
TO JUDGE IS NOT MY PURPOSE
Very easy to slip into the judges shoes. We look at people and without knowing the story behind their actions, we give them a label. Someone said, “Humans are scared of what they don’t know.” That’s true, and when we don’t know or understand something, it becomes bad.
I find life is less shackling when I look at people with the eyes of love rather than from the glass of race, nationality or gender. It is easier to love people when I see them as I see myself - a human who makes mistakes and learns from them.
Like a friend of mine said, “There are no bad people. There are just people who make bad decisions”. Sounds like bullshit, but Love doesn’t make sense. It never does, and I have no business judging anyone. There are myriads of reasons why people do what they do.
MY PAST IS JUST THAT!
The shackles of the past are burdensome. Sometimes, we can find ourselves stuck there, reliving experiences and carving out the future from history. History isn’t always good and because we can’t unchain ourselves, we find ourselves repeating it.
Every time I have to forgive myself of past sins, for saying or doing the wrong thing, for not doing what I should. Everyday I practice self forgiveness in ways that seem even insignificant. Living in regrets doesn’t help anyone.
THIS TOO SHALL PASS
Life is a long process filled with a cluster of short moments. The moments can be filled with joy or pain. Either way, it will pass. Every moment is meant to be embraced and lived to the fullest. Every emotion that springs up from new phases tries to tell us something about us.
BE FAITHFUL, BE DILIGENT
There is no food for a lazy man. One of the things we do as humans is to work. We work not only for food but also for purpose. When there is passion, there is progress.
Consistency is not underrated. It is the only way to fully realise our true potential.
These are truths from my experience to living what I’ll call a freedom life. Minimalism is freedom. It’s making the most of what you have. You can have an abundance of things and yet, you need only little to satisfy you. From my perspective, it comes with these five little principles and I’m still on the road to discovery.

Quite interesting principles. Indeed, people can only do their worst for things they know of. As long as they are ignorant of anything, that keeps them paralyzed in that aspect.

Yes. That’s how it is. Thank you so much for stopping by.
It’s my pleasure.
This is the message that I needed to read today!
How many times I said to myself: "I will not judge others!", but it is so easy to slip into a judge's shoes, indeed! On the same topic, my wife was reading a book about Galileo, and it's shocking how your paragraph fits perfectly with one part of the book's content... Galileo was persecuted because humans were afraid of the truth, a truth that they were not yet ready to accept, which was deemed bad because it was not yet understood.
History and the past can haunt us... We can't delete it... But we can write a better present and the future!

Good Morning.
Yeah. Many times we watch in movies how the fear of the unknown and strange causes bad things to happen, however, this happens in the real world today. Things people can’t comprehend leaves them in a state of peril and so, they turn and attack it.
Thank you very much for your time on my post. 🌺
It looks like we didn't get too far with our "fear-of-the-unknown" mindset... 🙂

Thank you ☺️
Every principle spoke to me on a different level, especially "This Too Shall Pass". As a stressed out Uni student, I got encouraged ☺
Thank you for sharing this.
I think something that resonated with me deeply was every moment shall pass, both painful and joyful. That’s something I’m learning to understand and it’s helping me be in the moment often.
Ohhh and forgiving yourself. That’s probably one of the most healthier things we weren’t taught. There’s actually some kind of glow that comes with waking up to live life and not to live in regrets.
