Jojo for TTT

(Edited)

Performing since she was a child, Jojo, an American pop and R&B singer, songwriter, and actress, began her musical career through BlackGround Records, eventually becoming the youngest solo artist in history to top the charts at 13. What a feat!

Thanks to this song (below) with her teeny pop and R&B voice, which I'm designating as my number one tune for the TTT initiative by Ablaze. Yes, it's still going strong, so come aboard if you haven't joined already. We are at week 242, if I'm not mistaken. Oops, I digressed.

Jojo - Leave (Get Out)

This was the lead single on her self-titled studio debut album in 2004. It peaked at number 12 on the Billboard 100, and became an international success, entering the top 10 on charts in other countries, and was certified Gold by the RIAA in the same year.

We continued to check her other songs, and another caught our ears, making it to our second tune for the week.

Jojo - Disaster

A pop ballad released in 2011 for her long-delayed third album, Jumping Trains. It was noted by critics to be similar to her 2006 song, Too Little Too Late, and Jordin Sparks' Battlefield. All I can say is that she has grown up over the years. Musically, I love the beats!

And we end this edition with a more serious tune, re:

Jojo - Small Things

The pop song released in June 2021 explores the struggle of hiding emotions and moving on from a past relationship. I thought Jojo showcased her emotional depth and maturing vocals in this track, in contrast to the first two tunes, which are more upbeat and assertive.

Well, with the numerous artists today (including AI music adding into the mix), we may easily forget Jojo soon, but at least we got to enjoy some of her music today.

Meanwhile, it's a bright Tuesday in DD. My LiLGuy is still snoozing as if he were elsewhere last night. The hubby found him sitting by the bedroom door around midnight, like he was waiting for someone. Gee, the thought gave me goosebumps!

Anyway, we're having a laidback day, and hope to discover some more artists to highlight in the next editions. Ciao for now!

Smile... laugh often... love more... be grateful always!

All of those music is indeed good but somehow I can't match the vibes of those. Maybe not my type or timing of listening is not right 😅. !LOL

20 years of music is a great achievement... She changes tons in that time but the voice is still good, the style of 1 is similar to 3, I wonder if she did back and forth

It sure is. Some of her songs are said to have similarities, even to other artists.

It’s amazing to see how Jojo has grown from a young star into a strong and emotional artist. The songs you shared bring back memories and also show her maturity now.

Yes. She even went through label disputes, but she came out on top of it.
