Little Boys. Big Moves. Proud Dad.
Today’s steps didn’t hit 10k, but my legs feel like they climbed Mount Everest. Why? Because they weren’t taken along peaceful canals or through leafy forests—they were taken up and down stairs, hauling boxes, and assembling IKEA furniture. Translation: we moved one of our boys into his new apartment.
It hit me hard. This little guy (well, not so little anymore) is stepping out into the world—into the noise, the hustle, and the beauty of the city of Antwerp. I couldn’t be prouder. Somewhere between carrying his sofa and setting up his Wi-Fi, it clicked: he’s not just moving… he’s growing. Fast.
And speaking of beauty, look at this view! That skyline is going to inspire him daily. (I might just “accidentally” visit a lot. For the view. And the free coffee. 😉)
So no, not 10k steps. But today’s steps? Worth every single one.

That’s amazing news. I can remember when we hauled furniture into vans, including one cat to help move our daughter to their current house and similar for our son a few years back. It was knackering but such a major moment.
Yes indeed, it IS a major moment! And one with mixed feelings, pride and joy on one hand, for them being able to step out into that big world, and the pain of letting go for them actually taking that step :-)
